The historic Starr Piano Building (4 stories, 12,600 sq. ft. , circa 1889) at 240 RE. John Lewis Way North (5th Ave. North) is up for sale again at $12 million by Anderson Jarman, who just paid $5 million for it 5 months ago. This works out to $952 per sq. ft., which is similar to rates of other older structures sold downtown recently.  Originally Jarman  had plans of renovating the structure, but is open to selling.  He has STG Architects on board to do the redesign.

Looks like they either reproduced, or restored/repurposed the mural that was on the warehouse that formerly occupied that lot.

New ownership is resurrecting the former Woolworth building in downtown Nashville, honoring the historic Civil Rights sit-ins with inclusive live performances at the new Woolworth Theatre.

The theatre, set to open mid-2022, will accommodate 400 people with floor, box and VIP seating. It will host live musicians, plays and other acts such as songwriter nights while also serving as a cocktail lounge.

Wasn’t this building converted into a restaurant a few years ago? I seem to remember seeing news articles about it. Did it not do so good?

It was a Dollar General for years before it was renovated.   Is a shame, because the previous owner put a lot of time and money into renovating it into a nice looking restaurant.

If Metro Parks wants to include this as part of Wharf Park, be my guest and have slip/dock fees that boaters making use of the docks have to pay in a way to pay back having to build the slips. I'm sorry if there are boaters on the board, but the land directly adjacent to downtown and the riverfront is just too valuable to dedicate a large are to docks and security for the docks and all these "loopers" are clamoring for.

Being an avid boater for decades I’m very glad the decision isn’t solely up to you : )  I am trying very hard to keep my unsolicited negative opinions to myself so as not to unnecessarily offend or upset someone. I get enough negativity at work, etc. and like sports, want all the politics, personal opinions, name calling  and negativity on this site to to stay at home and off UP.  My apologies if my comments upset you, however I’ve visited UP almost daily for the past 12 years to learn about all that is proposed and happening to our rapidly  growing downtown and this fantastic metro area we call home.  I have loved economic development,  commercial building design and constructional of tall buildings  for decades, and that is the reason I am an avid UP fan. All that has happened since we relocated here in 2010 simply fascinates me. Ron and Mark are the reason I keep coming back.  Why? They pretty much stick to the reason I think this site was created in the first place. “Just the facts, ma’am” . I just wish we all would do the same. Including myself.

To be known as TailGate Brewery Germantown will feature 30 TailGate beers (non brewed on site), plus pizza, loaded fries, and salads.  RootARCH is designing the interior. The bar will employ 30 people.

Apparently the block where the 1 story structures that include 3rd & Lindsley nightclub is located is being seriously considered for an apartment complex. A proposal has been submitted to Metro. The music club is already considering a possible relocation to WeHo.
