The Depot will be a 7 story (4 along Division St.) mixed-use project on the .9 acre triangular site at 600 Division St. It will feature retail space along Division St., some limited underground parking,  and possibly some outdoor patios. The developers are Jim and Candace Higgins, who bought the land for $650,000 in 2021.  This steep hillside slopes down to the CSX tracks, and is directly north from The Haven, and NE of Albion. Chisel Workshop will be the architect. The team will go before Metro Planning Commission on Jan. 12, 2023 for approval.

The Arcade, which is still undergoing massive renovations, has landed its first new tenant, a bar concept by the creators of Cafe Roze and Roze Pony.

Industry veterans Julia Jaksic and Eric Lincoln plan to create a chic, intimate gathering space for locals and visitors, creating a sense of community similar to their first two concepts.

Located in 1,600 square feet of space at 15B Arcade Alley, the to-be-named bar will open in fall 2023. Guests can expect a big, comfortable bar amid midcentury Italian design, think Milan in the '70s, Jaksic said, who is collaborating with Dryden on design.

Currently at Roze Pony, Owen Gibler will lead the bar program, which will take center stage. A small food menu will be available featuring shareables like oysters or a charcuterie selection.

Artist Lofts in Germantown looking SE from the alley between 2nd and 3rd Aves. N. Now working on ramp and 2nd level of parking. The GC was on site and said that there will be 4,000 sf of retail on the corner of 2nd Ave N and Monroe St. He expects the garage to be capped by the end of January and then go vertical.

Some more details are emerging about the Eric Church themed entertainment facility, Chief's, which will open in 2023 at 200 Broadway.

Chief’s will boast not only live music throughout the space, but also a ticketed music venue and a live broadcasting studio for Church’s Outsiders Radio SiriusXM channel and more.

Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ, by James Beard Award-winning pitmaster Rodney Scott, will be located on the rooftop.

The ground floor will be covered in over 3,000 of Church’s concert posters. The building represents various stages of Church’s life.

I dinned at the Black Tap on 55th Street location in Manhattan this past weekend.  We enjoyed the food and their specialty holiday milkshake.  The service was exceptional.  I personally had to speak to the manager to let her know how well the staff not only did their jobs but engaged with us.  Truly hope the Nashville location will be as good.    

I will say that the restaurant seems like it would fit better in an Elliston Place, Five Points, or even the newly developing areas in midtown.  But, it should do well in downtown.  The downside is locals probably won't hit as much as tourist during certain times of the year.

Party Fowl is going to move catty corner across the intersection of 8th Ave. South and Division St. into the former Fat Kat Slims space by spring of 2023.

The future Party Fowl space will offer indoor and outdoor seating to accommodate about 350 guests, considerably more than the 150 patrons the current building at 719 Eighth Ave. S. can host.

The upstairs of the future Party Fowl space will be called The Coop and seat about 90 patrons, the release notes. It will offer a full bar, an open-air patio, and views of the city. Multiple large TVs and three full-service bars will be part of the overall space.

Nashville-based Collaborative Studio is serving as architect.  

The lease will run through at least 2032. 

Bob Bass and Charles Debray own the property currently home to Party Fowl, while Nashville’s Crowell family owns the building to which the restaurant business will relocate. It is unclear if Bass and Debray either have their property under contract to be sold or are looking for a replacement tenant.
