It passed away some time ago.

Yeah, you’re right. Amazing the developer couldn’t get financing even with all of the tax incentives they were offered by the city and county. Only in Greenville. If this was in Charlotte, it would get built.

Good to hear, hopefully the final architecture is improved.

Agreed. I’ll believe this project is gonna get built when I see bulldozers on site though. Until then, I am gonna take a half glass empty approach. Same goes with the Avant, Delano, Gateway site, etc.

It looks like a 1950's jail or something. Please tell me this is not what is actually getting built.

I mean this shows me there are a lot of surface lots that could be filled with something, but I would keep a parking lot over this.

How does this fit in with anything in the vicinity? How could a board approve this architecture?

I think we’re okay. I don’t see it getting built honestly due to the Fed continuing to raise interest rates and banks now having their own issues. The project has been in the works for years. If it hasn’t started construction now with all of the tax incentives it has received and what not, it probably never will. Just my humble opinion. And how did the DRB approve this? Well, they approved the McClaren also so it shouldn’t come as a real surprise to anybody.

Looks fine to me. I like the mass.

I might be wrong but this project appears to now be moving forward. Brand new spray paint markings and survey stakes all over the site. The survey stakes say “do not disturb” on them along with a bunch of other letters and numbers so take that for what it’s worth.

I don’t know when grossly mismatched exterior portions of the same building suddenly became good architecture.  Maybe they haven’t.

What’s wrong with a brick exterior?  The temporary/self- storage building where the LGBTQ nightclub was, across from former Beck Middle School, is all brick and it looks a lot nicer than this.

The parcels that were for sale is no longer being advertised and also is now “off market” which I guess means somebody purchased it:

All of the new survey stakes on site would further confirm this. I’ll shoot Foundry an email and see if I can find out whether this is true or not.
