Wood board with all of the permits posted now up on site. Surveyors also doing work on site. Construction imminent.

Nice -- is it confirmed to be all aspects of the project?

Does anyone know if they've changed the focus of their retail recruitment for the new commercial building? (away from grocery/market)

Also, to confirm: this still includes the BB&T tower's mural component?

I believe everything is getting built at once and none of the plans have changed.

See how low-density so much of that land on the picture is?  If it were transformed into a more aesthetically appealing area, it could be a beautiful extension of downtown’s core, and a huge amount of commercial and residential space could be built there, instead of in distant suburbia.

The owners are different. The Beach Company COULD be renting it for staging materials though.

I'm wondering if something else is going on there.  The existing building has asbestos removal signage up at the two entrances to it.

CBRE is marketing the BB+T building as available for lease from 13,000 to 130,000 available for office.  So looks like changing that to residential is not happening.

Unfortunate; as I’m actively planning to move to downtown in the next two years, I was looking forward to this conversion as it promised lower rates than comparable new(er) construction.
