Thanks for the new shots.  Hope more buildings come up in this area to hide that Westin.  IMO, I would have expected a better design from that brand.  Looks like an Atlantic City hi-rise hotel from the seventies.  Absolute visual juxtaposition next to the sleek looking JWM.

What's weird is that this building looks sleek and tall from some angles....and short and stocky from other angles.

I think it depends which side you are standing on. On the east side the ground falls away as you go down the hill. On the Cummings stations side it rises up to meet Cummings station. Changes how big it looks.

Renderings show that it will feature a white/silver color alongside a pale gold. The base looks like it will remain pretty dark in color though.

Thanks. Yeah I’d noticed that rendering and thought maybe they had changed something. We all know how the finished product doesn’t always match the renderings. I’m guessing the current dark finish is just a covering. It’s going to look really good once the lighter finish is visible.

That is the parking lot owned by the Cummins Station folks.  Would be one the final phases of redevelopment for their massive multi-pronged expansion. The small lot you are referring to is to the left (out of the shot).

Here is the nearly topped out 805 Lea tower as seen from the intersection of Eighth Avenue South and Edgehill/Chestnut Streets.  Decided not to crop Mark Spain out of the picture but was not paid for leaving it in.

They haven’t begun adding the metal siding yet. It will be a gold/silver color once they’re done with it.
