Grudgingly, I'll give a thumbs up to this one.  If nothing else, it will add to the density, provide ultimate infill (if the other nearby towers come through), and provide visual variance.

I would be more upset if this building was another continuous facade of blue glass. 805 Lea and Embassy are much needed variations in the skyline, which eventually will be blended in with the surrounding developments.

However, I am not sure I would rent here, as the facade appears to block a lot of the views from within.

I'm glad that devlopment is happening, but the design is pretty unpleasant to me. It's not that it's boring, it's that it's actually visually disturbing, which is definitely not what you want on a building this tall!

@natethegreat, you're spot on.  I've looked at this building thousands of times since I can see it from every room in my condo.  EVERY time, a thought pops into my head, "They still have some work to do."

I concur with @nashvylle that this building will look better after it is surrounded by other buildings.

It's a definite head scratcher how this design got out the door.   But I love the height.  Ship it!

I preferred it when it was primarily black before all the cladding started going in.  We don't have many distinctly dark structures here, and that could be interesting.

I agree with all the recent comments, but I've learned not to doubt Hastings. They almost always deliver a building with great finishes, especially on the interior.

Perhaps this building is the "Gray Eminence" telling the other structures what to do from behind the scenes.  Not meant to be seen by us.   And if all the stuff planned for this intersection actually gets built, that may come to pass.  Invisible by design.

It's looking a lot better with all the exterior panels finally installed. A nice little 300 footer which will soon have a lot of company on that part of the convention center.

I'm not a fan.  If you can stand to look at it long enough, you'll notice a back and forth, repeating pattern with both the windows and panels.   Not saying I'm a fan, yet definitely not random...
