You may not know that the late, great Montgomery Ward was not only famous for employing @JFW657, it also was the origin of Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer:

From NPR

Everybody sing: ”Whatever it takes, Montgomery Ward!”

And a Very Merry Christmas to all.

A pic of the Monkey Ward on W. Colonial Drive when it was new in 1961:

There was also a sizable auto center next to the highway in the northeast corner of the parking lot.

It’s now the OCSO headquarters.

The other MW in town at the time was a much smaller version at Seminole Plaza in Casselberry, which was replaced by a larger store in Interstate Mall in 1974 (about the same time Altamonte Mall opened across the street).

The south Orlando store came somewhat later after Florida Mall opened in 1986.

His Majesty King Charles III knocked it out of the park with Britain’s highest ranked program on Dec. 25, the annual Christmas message:

God Save the King!

It’s interesting to compare the messages of hope and love of King Charles and President Joe Biden with Cheetohead’s tirade of vitriol on Truth Social yesterday. So much for the party of good Christian values…

I'm all for it, even though it won't stop those who really want one from obtaining one.

But it gives those states another prosecution tool.

I hope the bans include significant penalties for companies who knowingly sell and ship them to residents of those states.

Connecticut is preparing to:

- Raise age to purchase ANY firearm to 21.

- Ban open carry.

- Limit handgun purchases to one per month.

- Require registration of previously grandfathered assault weapons.

- Increase penalties regarding large-capacity magazines.

- Require registration of ghost guns.

How long before some right-wing pro-gun interest sues them?

Is @spenser1058ok? Anyone know them in real life? Last visited on 12/29 and don’t see any drama in their last posts to infer they had a reason to leave.

Hope they are well.

all I recall was that spenser disappeared for a short time many months back and then came back for a short period and then just stopped posting.  I don't know him personally.  I hope he's alright, but I wonder whether he's got stuff going on b/c before he left his posts were somewhat emotionally charged when he started talk about stuff like he wasn't happy with certain aspects of things in society or the forum or something.  But then he came back and made a bunch of regular posts.  And then he stopped.

I mean, I stopped visiting the forum when spenser joked about me disappearing and being stuck on a Southwest Airlines flight still...and then I made a few posts but not many... until that "misunderstanding" in the Lake Nona thread.

I will say this in general, I told people again and again that the system plays both sides but spenser didn't want to have one iota of that kind of talk, b/c, IMO, he needed a face for the "enemy," i.e., the right or someone on it, versus, the system in general. Well, the danger in not seeing thru the BS is we all get bent out of shape about things (me included).  But these issues get under peoples' skin; high blood pressure; narcotics; depression; anxiety; sociopathy; just so many ways people are affected.  It sucks but that's society today.

Yes, we all have a duty and obligation to be PC (imagine me saying that) for those reasons alone, but regardless of even that effort of TLC here, like I said before, the MSM (on both sides) has everyone up in arms almost constantly.  and that wears on people to the point of being unhinged at times (yes, I know...).

So, I don't really know what to think...

Tesla HQ is leaving Texas and returning to California

https://ktla.com/news/california/tesla-hq-to-return-to-california-musk-announces/

Im not a fan of how radical California is, but I know this move will infuriate right wingers so I'm happy about this.

the corporate HQ remains in Austin.

the good thing for him is that he's closer to Twitter, so he can have a more hands-on approach to the toilet flushing he started a few months back that will have political implications to be sure.  no right wingers that I know even realize that Tesla was in TX.  I didn't even know.  I thought they were in CA all this time.  But all right wingers know about the Twitter thing,,, so... I just don't think anyone really cares...  People care about their pocketbooks...

But look at the theme here:  he originally left b/c the county wouldn't let him reopen the plant during a lockdown, so he gave the medically morally superior democrats the finger and moved.
