Carmichael Towers I and II are being used as residential housing this year, but were not supposed to.    COVID caused VU to adjust its undergraduate housing plan for '20/'21 to have one student to a room (no roommate in a double room).   Instead of 100% of the freshmen in Ingram Commons, only 50% of the freshman are in Ingram and the other 50% are in Towers I and II and Branscomb.    I think it is TBD whether things  might "return to normal" for the '21/'22 academic year and if the Towers will no longer be needed.    They will ultimately come down for the completion of the Zeppos Residential College.

VU's West End residential college plan actually consists of 3 new residential colleges.    Phase I opened in fall 2020 (this is Zeppos, to the far left below).     The second residential college (not yet named) on the site of demolished Towers III and IV is under construction now, still on track to open in 2022.   The original phasing had the new college on the site of Towers I and II opening  in 2023.   That is almost certainly pushed back now, likely to 2024 if demo were to start this summer.

So how many students are in each college?  The Ingram College and Kissam College were recent projects on campus. I just can't tell how many each of those dorms are supposed to house.  And isn't there a 10 story tower planned for the eastern corner of the last segment?

Here's how it breaks down (pre-COVID)

Martha Ingram Commons - 10 residence halls on Peabody campus - all freshmen (about 1600 students) 

E. Bronson Ingram College - 340 students (upperclassmen)

Warren College - 319 students (upperclassmen)

Moore College -   341 students (upperclassmen)

Zeppos College - 335 students (upperclassmen)

At least one rendering of the three West End residential colleges showed the tower you may be referring to in Phase 3.

Vandy United Fund is two-thirds of the way to meeting its $300M goal to upgrade athletics facilities including a football-specific training center with a full-size indoor football field, a basketball-specific training facility, an expansion to McGugin Center for all other sports teams, and stadium upgrades with premium seating.  Fundraising will be opening now to the general population.  More details will be announced in the summer.

^^I know they’ve talked about building a new football stadium someday, but I wonder if they just went all chair backs in the current stadium (reducing seating to about 30k) and then built mostly corporate suites in the north end zone (similar to what Arkansas did a few years back in their open end zone) to bring in more $$…and refurbished the bathrooms, dressing rooms and concession areas…if that would be a good enough upgrade to get Vandy by for the next 50 years?
