Both the Roth Athletic Center and McNamara Cove will be ready to go this summer. With the completion of Roth, AD and athletics wunderkind Danny White will finally have a permanent office.

The Knights will kick off their 2020 football season with a LIVE! colorcast from the Bounce House as they take on the UNC Tar Heels. If will be a POWER6  national broadcast on ESPN.

Look for both teams to be in the Top 25 before the game.

Boise State to the American? Boise and the Mountain West are squabbling about future contract terms and BSU has filed a lawsuit.

If Boise were to join the American (a Back to the Future moment as the school was in the Big East for about five minutes before it fell apart), it would likely be as football only.

There are logistics issues (the closest AAC school is Wichita) but, if it happened, the American would pretty much own the G5 spot in the NY6 until better contracts come along after 2025.

The AAC is already performing more consistently than either the ACC or the PAC-12 and this would only solidify that.

Each year the American gets stronger as those conferences founder (in the most recent AP final rankings, the AAC was 3rd behind the B1G and SEC in schools ranked). It’s time to realize the P5 is nothing more than fake news.

There he goes again - the FL legislator (Randy Fine) who wanted to close UCF is now trying to pass a bill regulating what the schools can name their stadia and arenas.

In a perfect world, UCF would have no need to seek corporate sponsorship for the Bounce House or the Arena.

Unfortunately, other state universities are doing their best to keep UCF athletics from rising. While they’re failing at the task, it takes a lot of money to roll past their roadblocks.

This bill is not helpful.

It would be interesting to know why a legislator in Brevard County, which is part of the area UCF serves (there’s a branch campus in Cocoa), seems to loathe the university.

Charge On!

I used to work with a guy that had a baseball card once upon a time.  He had way more than the 17 games "major leaguer" Andy Barkett had.

I wish I could remember Walter's last name.  I was a kid and he had the card on his toolbox.  I asked him about it and he told me he played a few seasons with the Chicago White Sox and I think maybe the Cleveland Indians back in the day.  Since this was the late 80s and he was about 60-65?  I'm guessing it would've been around WWII or slightly before?  I did look him up in my Beckett's Baseball Guide at the time and he wasn't famous.

More on the Tallahassee nonsense that deep-sixed the $35 million naming rights agreement for the Bounce House from Mike Bianchi’s Sentinel column:

The world is changing - since it started, the American has brought over two Big 12 coaches and now Coach Fickellat Cindy has turned down the B1G offer at Michigan State. Not so long ago, such things would have been unthinkable.

Power6, indeed -Charge On!

Why bother with Dreamers when our Knights are taking names and showing how to Charge On!?!

12-1 at the bottom of the ninth against #8 Auburn (The SEC...it just means, well, something).

This is a 3-game sweep for our lads at Plainsman Field. Meanwhile, the women’s softball team is also winning this weekend.

I picture a 15 man roster with mani/pedi treatments at halftime.

I typed that and then googled to see if they had any players in the NFL and they do!  Donald Payne a backup LB for the Jags who was on the Baltimore practice squad prior to that.  That's nothing to sneeze at, because that still means you're supposedly in the top 2,000 football players in the country.
