Police HQ, Municipal Court options being reviewed

Many years back, like the early 2000s, the city considered selling the Municipal Court building for a condo building but it fell through. 

There was talk a few years back about the Post Office leaving  their Washington St. property.  That would have potential as a Police/Court location in that it would be on the bus line, would be near the train station , across from the Salvation .Army a nd clsoe to DT generally.  The acreage is 3.9 acres wih .6 acres in the same block that could be added. There is  residence with .21 acres on Asbury that would be an option as well.  That would be almost exactly the acreage they need.  

The P.O. distribution operations at Washington would probably be better housed closer to I-385/I-85 anyway. A small P.O. branch somewhere else could serve the walk in customer and boxholder needs.

When he says Admin functions, I hope he doesn't mean City Hall. 

I think Greenville should keep its City Hall and the Court/Police Station separate.
