Moving to SA

Why is SA forum so dead? Anyways, I may move to SA by May and hoping anyone has advice or tips about the city and place to live. Im looking for at least a 1/1 in an urban setting (downtown?), preferably high rise apt if SA has any? Looking to rent for under $1400 with cover parking. From researching in Zillow, seems like SA rental is pretty affordable, especially coming from DC.

Also, I notice alot of awesome proposed constructions in other threads, did those ever come to fruition? Thanks in advance.

Most S.A. urban development fans post at SkyscraperPage.  But the San Antonio forum over there is over moderated and discussion - especially if it's not Chamber of Commerce rah, rah, rah - is discouraged or deleted.  San Antonio is a booming city and often gets overshadowed by the other three  big Texas cities.  But it is not really a high-rise city largely due to local zoning because the city likes to maintain its historical appearance.  But there are a lot of mid-rise residential opportunities in interesting neighborhoods.
