This project is moving forward rather fast.

Here are some demo photos taken after the above video:  

 

The owners of that bar being sandwiched between this project and the condo building next door wouldn't sell.  The developers of this project even had an approved demo permit if the owners did sell.  I think it's cool to have a highly regarded cocktail lounge sandwiched between these two buildings.  But they probably won't be able to sell it in the future for whatever they turned down.

Demo is complete.  Now we wait for the city to approve the site plan.

This project is looking good to go.  The site plan appears close to approval and a construction permit for the tower was filed this week.  I don't think financing is an issue with this developer.

This will be one of the next big ones to get started.  Financing shouldn't be an issue with this developer, and they have built a couple of other 400'+ residential towers in Austin already.  A permit to demo the slab was filed this week with work starting as soon as Monday.  A couple of posters on SSP reported that an excavator was on site and some drilling was taking place.

An FAA permit was filed for a 730' crane.  Based on the height, it's probably a Luffing crane.  Things are starting to get crazy with tower starts.  And they keep getting taller.

Looks like site prep.  But the site plan has not been approved yet.

Rather extensive crane planes were filed with the city today.  They show at what points in the project the crane is jumped.  Here it is at its tallest - 720'.

A right of way closure permit for construction was filed today, and it indicated that construction could start as soon as 11/11.  They still need to finish up with city approvals, but that could happen over the next four weeks.

Ready to start.  Just waiting for the City to approve the permits...

A permit for a Luffing crane was filed today.  Luffing cranes are becoming common in Austin.

Still waiting for the City to give final approval.  Meanwhile the Porta-Potties are still waiting for the workers to show up.

The site plan was approved and released on Tuesday.  This should officially break ground soon.

A right of way closure permit indicated that lane closures around the site could start as soon as this week for the start of this project.

The construction permit was released this week, and this one is now underway.  There are no underground levels, so this should move from site prep to U/C fairly soon.
