Odd. Maybe they just needed this in public domain for some reason. Hopefully they close off the lot and actually do begin after the 2nd.

All these specs as expected?

The tower will have 196 apartments, 156,500 square feet of office space, 2,300 square feet of retail space, an eight-floor parking garage and a pool deck.

It’s two floors shorter for sure, I think that reflects a floor less office and a floor less residential

Yes, I would assume there are some tax reasons that they would like to allocate some development expenses in 2018 instead of 2019.

so now what is the height of this now 29 story tower.  still very happy about it as it will look huge over there by itself (for now)

The 31-story version was supposed to be 390' .... At 29 stories, it should be about 365' (111 m) or slightly shorter than Ally Center. And I agree with KJ, it will look huge over there by itself, mostly because it will be in the foreground of many skyline shots. I think FNB made a really good decision with this spot in terms of brand visibility.

Trimming this building down by one floor of apartments and one floor of office probably represent acknowledgment that the market is busy with other competition (Residential & Office space) delivering.  Even though slightly disappointing it's still a good sign that Charlottes local economy is healthy.

If only that huge existing parking garage was pushed back and made taller , this building wouldn't have to be awkwardly squeezed into that small section just like Ascent. I hope this garage looks better under the main floors, and fit on the block better.

IMO this city needs more towers in awkwardly small lots! Too many block-spanning projects abound

The way I see it, that exorbitantly large deck can be redeveloped at some point in the future. I'm just glad this corner lot is getting developed before that so that it didn't get absorbed into that assemblage

But having an above ground parking garage then the structure on top is sooooo ugly especially for such a narrow building.
