^ is blocking that much of the road really necessary?

I think they need to space as that tower is a tight fit.  MLK there by the ballpark is not too busy except on game days which start really soon.

Still not much vertical growth. Hoping this move at a faster pace.

It'll move slow at first, since they have to add more parking adjacent to a massive parking deck, for whatever reason. Nice view though.

Perhaps the existing parking deck will be going away in the not too distant future????

One would hope. Though I could see certain companies buying Duke Energy and building their new HQ there and utilizing that deck.

I think this would be a great space to just do the whole garage over and make it underground, and even  taller above ground. With a better shape and look, actually utilizing the space. This is great parking for the BOA stadium and BB&T ballpark.

Companies buying Duke or just buying their deck?

Buying this Duke building once Duke moves into the new HQ between Tryon and College.

Razing the structure below, and then building on the blank lot.

And then theoretically whoever decides to do so could utilize the parking deck that wraps FNB for parking.

Parking deck - upper left. Duke building referenced - lower right.

I don't see that deck going anywhere anytime soon, however, I would be happy if they someday built a SpringHill Suites type of triangular tower right there on the corner.

Then there was always this quote "Leary broached the idea of retrofitting the 2,200-space parking deck occupying 4.8 acres on Mint Street next to the stadium", when referring to Tepper and LU in general.

I don't know the logistics of that parking deck, but it would be cool if they could add retail in there, especially if the future of those practice fields are multi-use development someday. I know when that electrical substation was built, ppl probably thought it was placed on the outskirts of Uptown at the time, but it is taking up some prime real estate now.

They should for sure convert the ground floor area of the parking deck into retail between FNB and that hotel along MLK. That area would be great seeing as though  the hotel doesnt have any and FNB won't have much.
