Didnt they have to do a rescue like that when they were starting construction on this?!

No, there was a High Angle Rescue at the nearby Ally Building Site about the time that this building started construction.  There was another High Angle Rescue just last week at the Portman Holdings Building Site under construction on Hawkins St. in Southend.  CFD sure stay busy!

This building has a much larger presence from the west and southwest. It looks much smaller against the skyline when viewing from the north, unless you’re close up on it. It is quite downhill from the rest of the skyline.  Elevation here is 706 ft, while Tryon street through uptown averages between 740 and 760 feet.

Looking forward to how this activates the area at street level. Would that Residence Inn ever consider expanding especially given the increase in surrounding development?

The ground level will be a bank branch so the street activation will be relatively low. A little rush at opening, then like 5 people for 2 hours, a huge rush of people cashing checks on their lunch break, back to a few people until the rush before a 5PM closing. Very few people lingering as bank branches are largely quick transactions.
