fantastic news on both fronts.  That Lucky's cannot be allowed to sit vacant any longer; Food Lion's former space festered there for it seems decades.

always assumed Titusville was a sleepy coastal town, never considered the impact of the nearby industries.

DeBary wants to sell 20 acres near the SunRail station to develop its first downtown.

@orange87 is ready for some YUGE towers to sprout up. Who knows - maybe VMC will crank up and DeBary will give O-town, Chicago and Miami a run for their money!?!

Yep. I heard about that. It's several plots of land, all owned by different people so it's a matter of getting everyone to agree to it and on the same page. I think they're planning on building something similar to Uptown in Altamonte. I'd love that.

I love living in DeBary.

They are also hiring an economic development director, so maybe you can get that gig and land VMC!

Could the Soace Coast be a participant in yet another tech industry just getting off the ground?

Two of its players, SpaceX and Blue Origin, are already taking an interest. Thinking a little further out side the box, what sorts of research opportunities might this provide for UCF and Central Floridians?

Maybe there is a way to move beyond wasting millions of dollars on I-Drive white elephants perpetuating low wages in our economy...

Elon Musk to check out SpaceX launch sites at the Cape this week:

We’re headed Back To the FuTUre (when the region’s state school was Florida Technological University)in Central Florida - Space was once not only the Final Frontier but also the FuTUre of the region’s economy, with high paying jobs instead of #50 of 50. It’s time to get back on track.

Thanks to SpaceX, Cape Canaveral can now be a low-cost leader in launching satellites.

We were always one of the few launch sites in the world (providing the Space Coast with one of Warren Buffett’s famous “moats” limiting competition and having a unique competence), but now we’re doing it affordably, too.

For us old-timers, it’s like having the quality and reliability of a Betamax AND the price of a VHS. Win-win!

Addison Landing, an 82-lot proposed subdivision in (DeLightful!) DeLand at Spring Garden Avenue and Greens Dairy Road, has filed plans with SJRWMD.

On the other side of the rapidly dwindling Palmetto Curtain, the decrepit Beville Rd. Publix is finally being demolished and rebuilt.

Several bits of interesting  marina news on both sides of Volusia’s Palmetto Curtain are in the works, but among the most intriguing is a property listed for sale that has been approved for not only a sizable marina but also a 300-room hotel on the east end of the ISB bridge on Daytona’s peninsula.

There was a time many of us wished to see that neighborhood restored in an organic fashion like downtown Winter Garden, given its awesome location and some amazing old properties in need of some love.

However, Daytona Beach has suffered from the same corporate-itis that has befallen downtown Orlando of late and it’s gone on for several decades longer. Hence, this may be the best we might hope for.

on the hotel on the east end of ISB & the Intracoastal, on the north side of the bridge they have been doing sitework of sorts for the better part of a year- maybe for this project...

right now there are two condo towers u/c on A1A aside from the Protogroup project which has had more drama with it's contractors; Tower I has been topped off for at least a hear or longer with finishings being performed on the building while Tower II has been stalled.

The Hard Rock Hotel has parking across the street on A1A.  Recently, they doubled that parking capacity with another parking lot adjacent to it.  Surprisingly, the hotel has been pretty consistently busy; those lots are usually at least half full at any given time.

The Mayan Inn is now and has been converted to a Comfort Inn.  It looks nice.  The Mayan sundial has been placed in storage and preserved by the owners.

There is a healthy number of hotel properties along A1A  that have become either hotel chains or timeshare chains; they've got money backing their success.
