Me too.  I thought up fitting the GHS (Sirrine)  stadium would be an interesting option Its very close to downtown and to  Church st. so I assume that the impact of added traffic on the nearby neighborhood would be minimized and they already used to game day traffic increases.

The match tomorrow afternoon at 4pm has sold out, but everyone can watch it on ESPN2.  Should be a good one, as both teams currently are undefeated this season.

Greenville Triumph could make Mauldin SC the soccer team's new home in Greenville County

The Greenville County Council Finance Committee and Mauldin City Council both have resolutions in support of "Project Kick" on their respective agendas for meetings Tuesday night.

Joe Erwin, the owner of the team and a longtime Greenville entrepreneur, confirmed the Triumph's participation in the project in a written statement Friday.

"We have been in ongoing discussions with Mauldin City Council members and Greenville County Council members regarding a site for a proposed multi-use stadium," Erwin said. "We look forward to continuing to provide information, answering their questions and listening to their ideas."

I have to imagine that something had to be discussed with Greenville. I just wish I knew what it was, and why Greenville turned it down or didn’t offer an attractive option. Then again, it could have been a desperate Hughes, and a motivated Mauldin that squashed the idea of looking elsewhere.

Personally, I am glad. The stadium should be downtown not in the suburbs.

Charlotte FC today announced the Club will play Greenville Triumph SC in the Third Round of the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. 

A date and time for the match will be confirmed soon but will be played in the April 19-21 window at Greenville.

The Greenville Triumph and Liberty will both be playing at Paladin Stadium at Furman University this year.  Looks like they are still looking to build a multi-use home stadium by 2024.. wonder where?
