The local catholic schools used to practice some track and field events there; high jump and  pole vaulting.

Still the large baseball field too. It says home of the Saints. Does anyone know if Aquinas College played here recently?Super large lot. Could accommodate lots of housing.

Aquinas currently plays in my neighborhood in Wyoming at Kimble stadium. From what I understand, they have played there for several years.

I wonder if 'Saints' is in reference to All Saints Academy, a grade/elementary school fed by multiple parishes.

Nothing to do with All Saints Academy.  Was the 'mascot' a saint at whatever school was last there?

This part caught my eye:

Pinnacle, which is expected to do the renovation work on the former seminary building, plans to pursue a housing development on 12 acres behind the seminary building and gymnasium, said Michael Garrett, the construction firm's president and CEO.

Details of that project have not yet been finalized.

I'm always sad to loose green space, but this lot has long been under-utilized, and hasn't (to my knowledge) been open to the public. So I think this could be a good thing.

I agree.  I do hope that whatever they choose to put in its place will still have some well landscaped green space that blends in with the surrounding neighborhood.  Fronting Burton, I would love it to resemble the Clark Retirement home complex on Franklin.

The Samaritas Project is really starting to look sharp!! Does anybody happen to know who is behind the renovations on Burton and Eastern? Signs up for a BBQ restaurant, Community Center, Barber shop and a mini mart.  Hopefully will give some new energy to that intersection.

I live walking distance to this.. I also saw a coffee shop going in?
