So with below considered, I give a counter point. The current largest deck, from a vertically integrated perspective is Duke Energy Center. Which is buried, devoid of natural light 9 floors into the earth. Its occupied % is still 93%. 

I'd be way more pissed about Legacy Union's parking numbers than this project. The latest addition of 800 spaces, brings its new parking total up to 4,600. Another tower announcement that is imminent will bring it up to 5400-5600.

 

I used all my fingers and this calculates to 35,555 Occupied as of the October 2016 date of the report.

Two of the most unpleasant evenings in my uptown life involved the Hearst parking deck. Dinner at the late and lamented Blue restaurant and valet park for the car. After dinner there was a show at Belk and maybe an arena event and the traffic surrounded the block and exit from the deck was impossible and we waited in the air lock or in the foyer for 25 minutes and finally walked around the corner and met the car and driver near the garage exit just to escape the restaurant. That was on the 5th street exit. Another time was after Belk Center show and same Saturday night issue, this time on 6th street exit with traffic choked at Tryon and further ahead and thus no exit as 6th is a one way street. Exhaust fumes were headache inducing. A few brave souls drove over the sidewalk to make a getaway. 

How does any of the larger decks work here for those of you who use it daily or regularly. Is entry of exit a problem?

1100 S Tryon has been fenced off so I assume demo will begin soon?

Winnifred Street is already a shytt-show with Charlotte Water digging new pipes for the Railyard.  There are temporary above-ground water wipes everywhere.  This will only add to to the chaos but progress is progress I guess...

I'm serious, I hate surface lots but that's a very well landscaped lot. We don't usually bring up the types of plants used in urban environments, but that lot has a good sample of native southern plants. I wish we would see more Live Oaks (like at BofA Stadium) and Magnolias and Italian Cypress.

Lets not forget these 2- 11 story towers one for Lendingtree.   Some soil testing being done sorry by the time I saw it a tree was in the way.  Maybe someone who lives nearby can take a shot of it.

Yes will start next year, no on the brand yet.

Not sure how tall the garage is but the hotel will sit atop that structure.

Fencing from the demolition company went up Friday.  You can see dumpster in the aerial sitting by the front door, so assume they jus to started gutting salvagables, then knocking the rest down.
