No word. I don't think we will hear anything until after the Second tower is done, and other in process hotels get under way. I would think there is a market in South End for a high-end boutique though.

Winstead, a large national law firm is moving from 201 N Tryon to the Lending Tree building.

Interesting because this first building is nearly fully leased, but also a major law firm focused in bank clients is the first to move to South End.

Heard that Allspring Global Investments (the successor to Wells Fargo Asset Management post sale) is going into Vantage for Charlotte-based employees. Not sure though. Source could be wrong.

Not the tallest or the tallest to come but still a great project.  Looking forward to the retail announcements and yes Spectrum I have a suggestion.  On that back corner of the parking garage along Winnifred why not go for a urban format QT, 7-11 or a DGX store which could serve the neighborhood.  Where in this area do you get a gallon of milk or bread without driving out?  Not really any place walkable.  So seek out on of those retailers for that back corner to serve the neighborhood and your new apartments 2 blocks away.  Your office tenants would go by there today I am betting for quick needs or food.

Per the Biz Journal today, the West tower is 92% leased. Two out of state companies moved in, and one company from Uptown. One of the Companies, Hayward Holdings, is publically traded and moving the HQ here from New Jersey.

yes Hayward Holdings is a major pool equipment manufacturer with plant in Clemmons and distribution center in Mocksville both between here and Winston.   This is great for Charlotte another publicly traded HQ

Probably less than 100 people but great nonetheless another HQ from a high cost higher tax state. 

Update: it was 90 people expected at this office and they announced this in April but chose their location in the city now.  The tower first one is 93% leased now which is great.

Winstead the law firm relocating to Vantage Southend is shrinking its space.  Found an old Biz Journal article where they had 20,000+ sq ft in 5/3 Building at 201 N Tryon and now shrinking to 9700 sq ft at Vantage Southend.  You are seeing more and more companies shrink their office space due to Covid and work from home programs and here is another example as their leases expire.

Dram and Draught from Raleigh Durham Cary is coming is to Vantage Southend so says a post I saw today.

300 whiskeys, draft beer in 2800 sq ft. directly across from the Charlotte Beer Garden (another Raleigh import) 

and of course GoodWurst will have a 2750 sq ft location there too.

Happens a lot. Cowfish is in North Hills and Bad Daddy is in DTR and RDU airport. I wonder when Boxcart Bar + Arcade will make the leap since they have a Greensboro location the only logical expansion next is Charlotte.

This area was begging for someone to take a chance at creating a catalyst, and The Spectrum Cos. gladly obliged.

At the beginning, Vantage positioned itself as the Gateway to South End and in a few years I think we will be saying it’s in the heart. Over the next few months, pull up a chair, grab some popcorn and watch as the rest of this are fills in, because the stretch from Mint to Kenilworth along Morehead and Carson Blvd is about to look very very different.""

I just want to see surface parking lots filled in everywhere...whether with towers or single-story boutiques abutting sidewalks...just filled in.  Also want road diets...sheltered bus stops...plazas and piazzas...The sooner, the better. 

Oh, and power lines buried.
