I’d be delighted if they brought some of the area’s  good German food with them. Milwaukee’s Mader’s Restaurant is a little bit of Bavarian heaven!

Went to Mader's a couple of years ago after going to a Brewers Cubs game.   Had the pork shank with the kraut and potatoes and thought it was excellent.   I put that in my top 5 meals of all time.

OK, I have been silent on professional sports on this forum other than a history post on Sulphur Dell.  This piece of architectural garbage has provoked me to give my opinion.    As a very long time native of Nashville and East Nashville in particular, I am  proud of the well  reasoned development of pro sports in Nashville.  This hodgepodge is an insult to the positive image of city and a ploy of using crass commercialism of our good reputation in sports.  What would Nashville gain with such a ridiculous edifface?   Ridicule, that's what.   The vibrant revitalization of the area of the Sounds Stadium, with a new development shown on this forum even this week, is centered on the Sounds field on the site of historic Sulphur Dell.  Much, if not all, of these new  housing and business complexes would lose too much of their luster if such a monstrosity were to be built as shown. and the Sounds move out.   This architectural outrage shoehorns  entirely too much into too little and creates what wouldbe a likely disasterous traffifis scenerio which would render the Korean War Veterns Bridge frankly useless at every one of the numeous games MLB generates.  It is bad enough during the few Titans games as it is.  The rendering looks like it was done on a home computer with $99.99  CAD software purchased off the internet.  What happerns to the Cumberland marina landings, First Horizon Park, the access to the riverside park and the Ghost ballet?   The nashville Bridge Building would be forced int uselessness . What about the old historic barge gantrys?  How can folks use the Sigenthaler Bridge for Titans Games when it dumps right into the ballpark?  I can support MLB, but theis is like forcefeeding a goose to make foie gras.  THUMBS DOWN.

I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments here!

Music City Baseball announced Friday that the group’s efforts have been delayed for at least a year as the sports world continues to navigate the pandemic.

“Music City Baseball has recently learned that, due to COVID-19’s significant impact on baseball and all sports, our request to MLB to secure a franchise is likely delayed for at least one year while we continue to move forward with other priorities,” John Loar, managing director of Music City Baseball, said in a news release. “In this unprecedented environment, these understandable delays may change our timing in securing a team, but not our unwavering effort to bring Major League Baseball to Nashville. The momentum behind Music City Baseball is escalating and our strategy is long-term. So, although our timeline for MLB in Nashville may be delayed due to issues beyond our control, we are progressing toward securing a team for our great city.”

They also don’t have any land, nor the amount of money needed for a stadium, among other issues.

The good thing is that "for illustration purposes only" lets you know it's not a true, accurate rendering of whatever they would want to propose for a location that is probably <10% of actually happening.

Also, with the pandemic, coupled with MLB's overall slow slide in ratings & attendance, outside of some stellar teams, this is at least 5 years down the road at best.  You can have all the support & big names behind it all you want, but without the massive amount of capital & land, it won't happen. Given land prices in Nashville, particularly in areas actually doable for a ballpark, this would easily be a minimum $1.5 billion investment.

I like both ideas. Would be great if the stadium could fit on the left side with the train access there. Could even orient the park for a partial view of the downtown skyline.

And really like the marina/basin idea as open and forested parkland.

Is the zoning change request real?  That stadium could even be rotated 45+ degrees to the north for a nice view of downtown.

It seems to be still listed as IR Zoning on the Metro Parcel viewer, so maybe the request didn't go  through. Perhaps it didn't go through after all. Maybe Sméagol knows. I thought I heard that land in this area was going for  some high prices.

Had a few thoughts further on this as to location of a new MLB field.  This recent photo shows extent of the PSC scrapyard and the aging warehouses just past the interstate bridges.

I thought I would scribble down  an idea that may be worth pursuing.  When you look the area between the bridges creates a very large area when you include the forested west bank where the railway tracks are.  What if a pedestrian walkway could be suspended under the interstates bridges to access both sides of the river or a pedestrian bridge at least beside them  I think the best use for th PSC site is a large marina serving downtown surrounded by forested green space. A MLB field coud be located on the south side of the interstate with access roads on the east side allowing anew mixed use complexex to be built in a more accessible vehicular area without jamming up the traffic so badly at the Titans stadium . Eith development of the west bank as a park and looping the Greenways, this would give Nashville a central park area big enoug to be significant.  This is just a scribble as I do not have CAD or a drafting desk anymore since I retired.  Just a thought.

Aw man, Baronakim, you just razed my apartment! Haha

There’s actually a bit more life in that strip of warehouses than most people realize—lofts, maker space, vintage stores, a flea market, go karts, etc. I personally would love to see the Davidson Street strip down to Shelby Bottoms rezoned and infilled with some more height—it could make a really great, unique neighborhood with just a little tweaking.
