I like the overall design too, but the apparent lack of any ground floor retail is a bit disconcerting.

Demo Plus trailer backed up to the front door.  This is a good sign.  There hasn't been activity in that building in many months.

Sidewalk closures are so frustrating! I walked a couple miles down West End into downtown the other day. I probably wasted 5 minutes just zigzagging across streets because sidewalks kept being closed.

Builders should be REQUIRED to maintain a protected path for pedestrians. This isn't something new. Every large city has figured it out. In London, I basically walked through the ground floor of a construction site through a protected tunnel.

That sidewalk is far busier than the one across the street because of all the restaurants and shops and the connection to downtown via 8th Avenue S.

Doesn't builder have to get permission to close the sidewalk?  Where would I find out about that?

I wonder if this is just short-term temporary fencing (Dept. of Redundancy Dept.) for the demo of the building?  Then, maybe, the more "permanent" fencing would go on the inside the sidewalk once all the flying debris, etc. is finished.  Just a thought.

Greystar has landed a $43.3 million permit for construction of the 16 story tower.  Construction is imminent.

This project along with 805 Lea will look great and further connect The Gulch and Sobro. 

Speaking of which- when is that gulch bridge gonna happen?

Probably not until after the first Station District  Tower is almost complete as it will tie into the base of that tower. So, I would not hold your breath or you may turn blue and die.

If this is the same one referred to in the article. 26 & 16 stories.  Anyone know anything about this project? Groundbreaking?

Not sure about groundbreaking but hopefully soon. I know the article about the attempt to move the historical house on the property mentioned that the Greystar wanted the house gone by July or it would be torn down. That was a couple months ago, and we know how much these timelines change.

Drove through here the other night. Greystar must be paying a fortune for the 2 cop detail for taking away the sidewalk and two lanes of vehicle traffic. Or at least I hope it is Greystar paying for that!
