Amway Grand = stately, simple, & succinct.  Good signage.

GRCC Raleigh J. Finkelstein Hall = Clunky, gaudy, & verbose.  Not good signage.

Though the same thing. I’m hoping the top was the tricky part, and the rest will go much quicker. Otherwise, they’re on pace for about 2026.

Noticed this on my way in to work this morning. 

LED lighting. I think that'll look really sharp all the way around

We were in the AGP last night to grab a drink and it was spooky in there. Absolutely no one walking the main concourse and only one desk person. All of the restaurants and bars were closed except the Kitchen/WGP.  We walked right into that "I Don't Care" private club and we could have served ourselves some libations from the bar as there were no workers around.

Without conventions, meetings and weddings, it's pretty dead.

I'm kind of surprised that they didn't close AGP down COVID/renovations and keep JW open. Seems like it would have been a lot easier swapping out the facade w/out guests.

I believe so.  I think the top tier above the "break" will be lit.  It appears that they maybe installing up lights now.

It'll have a lot of lighting. Here's a rendering from the announcement (and several pages back):

The "break" between the two types of glass is lit (they've tested parts of it a couple of times). Maybe it's just the rendering, but it looks like there could be uplighting from the base as well.
