LOL, not sure if I should trust the opinions of "journalists" who do not know the difference between "wreak" havoc and "wreck" havoc.

Good 'ole Slantinel, pushing agendas before intelligent thought since, well, forever.

A) It's their endorsement for the democratic primary.

B) Most newspapers do one - even though they don't really mean anything nowadays.

C) I mean - yeah - I guess it is "pushing an agenda" - but isn't that what supporting a candidate is? The whole reason you support a candidate it to push their agenda.

It's in the editorial section, so obviously it is not to be regarded as "news."  I am well aware of how that works. My point was that these idiots are going out of their way to try to bash Trump in their  endorsement of a democratic candidate and yet are too stupid to realize  their own ignorance. Hypocrisy at its finest, and I expect nothing less from our finest news source.

For the record, I have also endorsed Pete Buttigieg recently here out of the remaining candidates.  I didn't go out of my way to try to push my agenda and bash the other incumbent when the article is about the democratic side and make a fool of myself in the process, however.

Note, they fixed their error, albeit without formal acknowledgement of the correction like an actual respectable news source generally would.

Trekkers (George Takei) and vampires (Anne Rice) are all in for Mayor Pete. Kevin Costner, too (for all you Dreamers who believe if we build it, they will come). Not to mention Michael J. Fox (doesn’t Pete remind you of a progressive Alex P. Keaton?) It’s also great to see Pete will be having breakfast Sunday with Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter in Plains.

They all want to remind you that early voting starts MONDAY in Orange and Osceola counties and later in the week for Seminole and Lake.

 Charge On and VOTE!

Someone suggested that we pass on the presidential vote this time and throw all our efforts into winning the Senate. Florida doesn’t have a race for it this year but there are plenty of blue flips possible in states like GA NC and AZ. There are also great races in the FL Legislature to work on.

As long as it’s not Bernie (who, after all, isn’t a Democrat) or Bloomberg (who gave a quarter million bucks to Lindsey Graham, for God’s sake), I’ll vote for our nominee, but I’m concentrating my efforts down-ballot this year. If it is Bernie, it’s going to be more important than ever to do that.

Who is we? Like you said there isn't a senate race to vote in.

There are some candidates I don't like (Bloomberg being my #1 hated) but its the height of privilege to not vote when there are kids in cages and other issues where being a white male won't really affect me but will have big effects on minority communities. I can certainly hold my nose and vote for whomever the D candidate is.

If Steyer is serious about funneling all his money into getting Lindsey Graham out then good on him. Nice to see Bloomberg spend his money in that way when he hopefully loses and drops out.

What we are seeing, thankfully, is the successful use of the Democratic Party’s insider mechanisms to field candidates who can not only win but preserve the values its members believe in.

The GOP failed to do that in 2016 and we ended up with the debacle that is Donald Trump (the historians are going to have a field day explaining how such a presidency could even occur).

Bernie, I believe, would be a similar mishap from the left. In fact, I believe we’ll never know because I can’t see him able to traverse the right’s propaganda machine.

In any event, to preserve everything we hold important, it’s vital to nominate a candidate who shares those values. If we can’t for whatever reason, then our last redoubt is to take back the Senate and hold the House as a bulwark against Trumpism and further erosion of the courts.

However you choose to do that, you have my gratitude. The survival of the Republic really is at stake this time.

A look at how party insiders worked to begin coalescing around a non-radical candidate who can win:

The DNC and RNC have both given up their powers without much of a fight. In the name of small d democracy, they have neutered themselves. 20 years ago, Trump nor Bernie would be allowed to be on the ballot under R or D. It is a shame.

I will disagree the Bernie cannot win. With negative partisanship so high, you'll get people voting against a candidate, not for them. I would assume Trump would win bit don't count Bernie out completely.

Also, as a guy who heard not stop in 2016 that not voting for Trump is voting for Hillary, I say vote or don't vote. Whomever you vote, vote for that person not against their opponent.

And Amy is leaving the field today. The field for the moderates is clearing as, thankfully, Bloomberg’s polls are dropping. He should have run as a Republican where they value money above all else.

CNN reports Pete will endorse Joe. That’s enough for me. As Commander Riker said, “Some days you get the bear. Some days the bear get you.” 24PETE24

More importantly, we’re seeing one of America’s political parties hasn’t totally lost its backbone. Will Rogers may have been right that he wasn’t a member of any organized party, but I’d much rather be a Democrat than the alternative.

UPDATE: Jill Biden is flying to South Bend to pick up Pete and then both will head to Dallas for a Joe rally. Rumor is Amy may be in TX also. We’re also hearing former Majority Leader Harry Reid is talking to Warren. This is what parties do, folks.

I do find it real interesting that Trump is now the young candidate of the bunch. The youngest D left in the race is Joe Biden at 77.

I must say I like Bloomberg for taking on Sanders and his crazy ideas with his own money. He's the best bet to get me not to vote for Trump (and I'll note I did not vote for Trump in 2016)

On the issues I align w/Biden & Bloomberg (& Patrick before he dropped out). The only thing difference for me is that if Bloomberg comes out on top, I'll save money by not having to donate to his campaign.

Highly disappointing, hope the city is getting some money or something in exchange for a complete waste of an endorsement.

They already did... kind of.

And there goes Liz:

From Vox

No word if she’ll endorse.Endorsing Joe or not endorsing at all will be viewed as a slap at Bernie since they were the two on the left side (although her voters will likely split).

Liz (she’s got a plan for that!) was going to be my second choice until Pete sent us over to Joe. Here’s hoping if he wins she gets a spot at Treasury on a WH Econ team or, best of all, veep.

Still prefer a woman prez? Tulsi is still in the race, although Mike just blew her away in her home territory, Samoa, on Super Tuesday.

Keep the JOEmentum going!

Frank Torres compares Bernie’s past interest in the Orlando with Joe’s and concludes the Democratic Socialist has yet to earn the vote of local Democrats:

Meanwhile, The Donald is in Seminole County today. Steer clear of Markham Woods Rd. to avoid presidential traffic. Look for other areas between MCO and that area to also be affected.
