I've been meaning to post this 538 article all week but fortunately OW did a nice breakdown. After the election, the majority of FL will be represented by election deniers... chew on that.

The populace of this country is going to get whatever it deserves.

I hope that by the time the coming  great American theocracy led by the new GOP "Christian" ayatollahs takes over the country and turns everything they don't like a crime, including not being a self professed Christian, I won't be around anymore.

Try to enjoy the last days of democracy as much as possible.

Meanwhile, Desantis sending immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard seems to have backfired.

Who knew that liberals could be so welcoming to the politically objected?

Is it time that we deal with immigration in the states that can put their big shoes on?  And take this off the overwhelmed FL and TX governors?

Backfired? Every interview I've seen showed the liberal city officials angrily complaining about having to deal with the illegal immigrants. Kamala won't address the border crisis, so send the border crisis to her front lawn.

Seems pretty straight forward. There are sanctuary cities/states and there are law abiding cities/states. Send them all to the sanctuaries. And if they like it so much like they claim, then keep sending them there. Heck, they can have the entirety of South America sent there if they want them so much.

‘"To these wonderful people who find themselves plane-wrecked on our island, I have a message for all of them," said Self. "You are not alone. We have your backs. We are proud to be here for you."’

From The Sentinel

Now, let’s review. Your FOX friends LIED to the immigrants, lied about their addresses (after the immigrants told them they had none) and gave the folks on Martha’s Vineyard ZERO warning.  Boy, this is the crowd you’re aligning yourself with?

https://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/os-ne-migrants-desantis-marthas-vineyard-20220916-vzjstdt3srgrff2h7zbsfz5qwu-story.html

Your MAGA friends, as usual, likely broke a boatload of laws to pull off these shenanigans. But, then, how many Trumpists have we seen in jail over the last four years? It seems DeSatan is cut from the same sleazy cloth.

Do yourself a favor, stop associating with these lowlifes.

Isn't them simply being in this country at all against the law? But now that it's in these champagne socialists backyards they're upset and only now is immigration discussed on national TV.

That's where the abuse of our immigration laws comes in. Anyone on Earth can just claim they have a rough life and are seeking asylum.

Maybe, but that doesn't change the fact that these individuals have been processed by federal immigration officers and are now legally in the country and protected by the laws of the country. Your personal opinion on the situation does not change the law. BTW, asylum status is not something new. It has been around since '67.

what are you talking about?

Last I checked the Left are the ones labeling people as "climate deniers" "anti-vaxers" election deniers" "alternative facts" etc., pushing political correctness under the guise of being "nice" when in actuality its a censorship tool, just like it was in every Socialist country seen the past hundred years.  They also use "anti-semetic" as their ace in the hole as well as "racist".  You have a brain dead puppet president making statements about how Trump supporters are a threat to the country or whatever.  Yeah, maybe a threat to Socialism...

I have yet to see "anti-Christian." man they got you twisted

and as far as turning "everything they don't like a crime", you cannot be that hypocritically serious and throw that out there while the Left has done as much as it could to censor people over the past few years, where the big liberal establishments fire actors for stupid reasons, fire employees for same, and crucify people on social media and use the brainwashed masses as their governing body.

it's ridiculous.

There are all kinds of reasons they could come but there you go making blanket accusations. The biggest thing you need to discuss with yourself is that those stupid laws you keep talking about came to be in the late 1910’s and 1920s during the rise of eugenics and the second coming of the KKK. Must be nice to be associated with that. It’s also when the Daughters of the Confederacy dreamed up ways to push The Lost Cause on the country and make heroes out of racist slave-owning traitors.

One of the reasons our country has been so successful over the years is because we welcome folks from all over the world - it’s a great way to keep growing.

There are entire parts of the country in the Midwest dying because all that’s left are old white people unwilling to attract the immigrants who can bring their towns back to life. The cities in Iowa that have gotten over that and been welcoming are the ones succeeding.

There’s no doubt we need to adjust the rules and wild-eyed liberals like Ronald Reagan have worked to do so. It’s hard to work out a solution when the Know-Nothings in the country just paint anyone a little different as evil. You should also know states like Texas have been infamous for refusing to set rules in place. Why? Because when they need workers, they want to be free to bring them in. When they’re done with them, they just want to kick them out.

Studies have consistently shown that within as little as one generation, immigrants and their children outperform native-born whites. Why? It takes a helluva lot of risk and gumption to leave everything you’ve ever known and start over to protect your family from torture, death and in many cases starvation.

The Vulcans got it right: Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combination is the key to success and had been for America since the beginning.

House Speaker Tip O’Neill began his memoir with stories of growing up in Boston with “No Irish Need Apply” signs across the city. He overcame that to become one of the most powerful, most respected folks in the country and BFFs no less with Saint Ronnie.

Surely you Connecticut Yankees can show the Mass folks how to do better.

It’s funny how my ancestors arrived here in the 1780’s (from England) and I’ve never felt threatened by this who came after us for many of the same reasons. Surely, if I have no fears, why should anyone else?

election deniers.

until you personally count every ballot in any election yourself, you do not, nor does anyone qualify, to make an assertion whether any election is 100% accurate or fixed.  You only know what you're told, from our free and unbiased non-government controlled MSM.

Chicago was notorious for "delivering" JFK to the presidency.  This was a known fact since the 1960's.  So don't tell me by posting an Orlando Weekly article on the subject that now, we have a new category, called an "election denier", in an attempt to hide the truth about whether or not there was election fraud in 2020, by creating this new moniker to socially shame people to keep their traps shut for fear of social reprisals.

This is the brave new world that the Left wants.  But guess what, to all the "reality deniers", a bird cannot fly without both it's left and right wings, and however left that pendulum has swung, it's beginning to swing back right.

And while everyone is playing in the mud on this thread freaking out and smoking their weed because that can't take it, like that lady screaming up to the heavens when Trump was sworn in, I'm gonna be sitting back sipping my drink and laughing b/c nobody wants to listen; they just want to bicker; while the Elite still laugh and plan their next big thing.

that's how it's always been and that's how it will always be because the masses are...easily led...like puppets.

There is overwhelming proof of election denying among the MAGA crowd from Republican judges and officeholders (see Georgia). As to anti-vaxxers, it’s because of them polio is rearing its ugly head in the US again after being all but eradicated. Great work!

As to “anti-Christian”, wanna join me at FUMCO Sunday morning at 11? Sorry but that dog won’t hunt.

CT is a sanctuary state. I don't have a problem with immigrants. I just think our immigration system needs serious reform because it's anarchy right now. There needs to be better checks and balances.

My ancestors came from England to Boston in 1653. One of my ancestors founded a town in New Hampshire. Another was a world famous architect (I won't say who because then the internet will know my last name).

Oh I could have told you that...about Polio.  gang violence in Chicago is the fault of Mississippi.  Polio is because of anti-vaxers.  Oh, I saw that one coming.  Do you even read the news?  Do you even read the reports coming out of Europe about the covid vaccine and complications from it?  Oh wait, it didn't come out of Anderson Cooper's mouth...so...no.

Last I checked, I didn't call you an anti-Christian.  what's your point on that?

Yes, the far left is pushing an agenda almost as extreme as the far right.

But the difference in the two is the nature of what they're trying to achieve.

The left is not pushing one hare-brained religious belief over all the other hare-brained religious beliefs. Under the left, we are in no danger of becoming a theocracy. Under the right, it is an almost certainty. Under the left, we risk becoming a promiscuous society and that is not good. Under the right, we risk having any orientations that do not conform to the standards of their magic sky father's book of fairy tales turned into crimes punishable by jail time, or in the future, possibly "re-education" camps.

Under the right, we risk becoming a Christian version of Iran because the ideology of the right is based on religious morality, whereas the ideology of the left is based on secular morality.

Given that religion has a long history of leading to zealotry in the pursuit of converting (forcing) everyone else into their beliefs, I'm much more worried about them than I am of those who feel everyone should believe what they want even if I don't much care for certain aspects of  their lifestyles.

Plus, even though I agree about the annoying political correctness of the left, all your yadda yadda about the  "climate deniers" "anti-vaxxers" "election deniers" "alternative facts" just being empty rhetoric tells me that you drink the Trump Kool Aid.

Those kooks exist.

We did not just make them up.

Anyone who thinks we did, is one of them and as such, a proponent of "the big lie" and part of the problem.

Although they’re the noisy ones, all Christians aren’t right-wingers. That’s why I’d love to have you visit you a welcoming church  like Sen. Warnock’s Ebenezer Baptist in Atlanta or Joy Metropolitan Community Church right here in town (started by the LGBTQ+ community) or First Unitarian or Park Lake Pres, founders of Faith Arts Village, Orlando.  Plus my very own FUMCO! I can give you the names of several others if those aren’t convenient.

Not what I said ^^^.

But all right-wingers are "Christians".

Or at least they pretend to be.

And they are the kind who are more than ready and willing to shove it down America's throat, like it or not.

No thanks re: the rest of it.

Actually, I’m not so sure about the Q and Bannon crowd being anything other than “nones”. Certainly, the evangelical Christians and far too much of the American Catholic Church has been co-opted. Jennifer Rubin had an excellent WaPo column this week about how evangelical membership is dropping like a stone (following earlier drops among mainline Protestants and later Catholics). She finds based on the increasing number of “nones” (no organized religion) that a lot of what we’re seeing is reactionary. The problem is the way they’re going about it is pushing the younger generations away even further.

Thanks in no small part to DeSatan, Florida is now number two behind Texas in banning books. Did someone mention “cancel culture “?

Charley Johns, Orval Faubus, Lester Maddox and George Wallace would be so proud of Ron. Welcome back to the 1950’s and early ‘60’s!
