Don't get me wrong.  I'm pro-tree.  I agree we don't want to become a concrete wasteland.  And I'm also very much oaks are what make Orlando what it is.  AKA not a coastal city. But not right the

Hey guys. If you want to talk climate change let’s create a thread for it.   Let’s refocus this page to the Zoi House.   Thanks!!

Good news - I posted a week or two ago that X Orlando and Orange/Robinson we’re moving through permitting but that Zoi was quiet. On 10/11 their prescreen approval for the ARB was approved.   Sta

There’s no way this happens amidst a global pandemic ... right?

Is anybody even lending money right now for a project of this magnitude in a city like Orlando, which will probably be one of the hardest hit in the recession?

Boggles the mind, I tell ya ...

I don't see "the tree"

I think this is just a rehash article meant to fill up space, as it refers to an application that was filed "this spring".

Of course it is now late summer and about a month away from what passes for autumn around here, so I don't see the newsworthiness of the piece.

I'm still hoping it quietly fades away, so that probably guarantees it will get built. <_<

In the bottom schematic on the right side is a green space with what seems to be sizable trees on the extreme right? Is that something different from THE TREE or just a euphemism for a developer version of the Charlie Brown Christmas tree?

Not much to see here, but MPB approved 39 story mixed use project now being called "389 North".

Two floors have been lopped off and it is now..."The new development program calls 10,000-square feet of retail space, 88,000 square feet of office space and 300 residential units atop a parking garage that can accommodate 539 vehicles."

In other words, it's been slightly Orlando'd.

"The zoning request for the proposed 24-story Monarch Tower at 322 E. Jackson St. was delayed at the request of the applicant."

So is that something to be concerned about or is it normal for whatever reason?

Heck, they’ve been delaying this bad boy since before the last recession so I can’t say I’m shocked.

I gotta admit I’m confused. Where did the quoted text on the Monarch come from and what does it have to do with this project?

Sorry about the slight derailment.  It came from the article linked, which had an update on both the Zoi and Monarch buildings.
