Ah, but Yucca filamentosa does not have a centarl stem, so i doubt this is our native species.  It apears to be Yucca rostrata; a decorative landscaping variety but NOT native to our area.  I can see why it is being saved; one that size is very pricey at a nursery.  However, I still think it is  an ugly species for our area.  Move it to Margaritaville Hotel... more appropriate.
