It looks amazing.  If all of the buildings in SouthEnd were rising in Raleigh, people would be very excited.  Charlotte just keeps underscoring that it’s the best city in NC.

Remove the 20 people that care about Raleigh's building development and you have the opposite. NIMBYism is strong in the Triangle. Besides Raleigh's 'Midtown' has dozens of 12 to 35 story projects (the Walter) under construction or proposed so it will be Raleigh's South End.  But with BRT instead of real rail transit.

Walk bys today and I heard the apartment tower on the Sycamore site will start right after this tower is completion.  I think it is 23 stories or something I can't remember I have so many new towers floating in my head.

Been a few weeks this one is looking good.  I did not know the glass would have so much black trim.  Looks good.

Those are truly incredible photos. I agree the building is outstanding.

Looks like there's a crane going up at the Sycamore Brewing site. Is Portman already starting on the residential tower?

Yea, they were starting to dismantle the crane on Monday morning

Good comparison between real life and the rendering.  Goes to show how much developers embellish their renderings as well.   All in all I think this is turning out great, just hope the screening on the parking deck meets expectations.

Embellish? This just looks unfinished to me, it could look exactly like the rendering when it’s done

Very true.  I'm sure it will match closely to the renderings when completed and I do think this building matches very close to what is depicted.  I'm just stating that renderings tend to exaggerate things such as lighting, angles, color, depth, texture, etc.  I understand why developers do it but sometimes it leaves the final product not quite meeting expectations.

It has grown on me and I too was walking by their town and noticed the cladding on the garage levels.  The street level especially on the Rail Trail side is going to be fantastic with all its retail.
