Quick drive down old 70 through Garner a few days ago.

Been playing around on Google Maps.  I have heard that NCDOT wants to realign Jones Sausage Rd, presumably to eliminate the at-grade rail crossing next to where the Starbucks label is.  That would likely eliminate the seamless transition from White Oak Rd to Jones Sausage Rd, but that could be somewhat mitigated by rerouting Jones Sausage past the new Tru Hotel and then extending it across US 70 to Timber Dr East.  There is a creek that runs along there that could become a new park (Garner has an excellent park network for a town of its size).  Also, eventually, the empty land bounded by US 70, White Oak Rd, Timber Dr East, and the new road is bound to be developed, and it would be nice to see an urban mixed-use development here.  I know this is all expecting way too much, but you never know who reads these posts.
