A source confirms that Crescent is developing 10’000 foot mountains in the River District.  The mountains will be pedestrian friendly.

"Honeywell also plans to establish a hangar at Charlotte Douglas International Airport to house four company airplanes, according to the agreement with the state."

Like to hear this about a new corporate citizen to Charlotte from the Biz Journal subscriber

""A better-than-expected first quarter paired with strong full-year numbers for 2018 has led Honeywell International Inc. (NYSE: HON) to increase its guidance on earnings for the current year.  The high-tech manufacturing company, which is moving its headquarters to Charlotte this fall, reports net income of almost $1.42 billion, or $1.92 per diluted share, on income totaling $8.9 billion in the most recent quarter. That compares with with net income of close to $1.44 million, or $1.89 per diluted share, on income totaling $10.4 billion a year ago.  Accounting for the spinoff of two business lines last year, the results show even greater improvement. Honeywell's adjusted earnings per share remain at $1.92 for the first quarter of 2019. During the same quarter last year, its adjusted earnings per share totaled $1.70.  The company's per-share earnings from the first quarter this year were 9 cents higher than analysts' expectations and 7 cents above the high end of Honeywell’s own projections.   “Honeywell had a tremendous first quarter,” CEO Darius Adamczyk told analysts on a conference call Thursday.""

Honeywell execs were out at UNC Charlotte for a labor conference today and the Business Journal reported this:

""Honeywell International Inc. (NYSE: HON), the Fortune 100 company that moved here last year, already has 400 employees here and will grow to 600 by the end of 2020, human resources vice president Cheryl Lim told Cooper.  “The move has been tremendous,” she said of relocating from New Jersey. State and local incentives worth nearly $90 million were pledged in exchange for Honeywell bringing its headquarters here and committing to add 750 jobs. Lim said the quality of life in Charlotte — and extensive outreach and familiarization efforts by the city’s economic development division — convinced 60% of workers in New Jersey to move here.""

 

that 60% number is high for relocations of that distance and it shows the attractiveness of Charlotte as a place to live.

Thanks.  I thought that it was about ten floors of office.  Do you think that this will top out by Christmas?  Also, the office portion should be well underway by the time the RNC occurs.

By the way, when we will see the coconut palms?

The rate at which they’re building this currently it will top out by the end of this year.  Parking Deck will be complete by May or June.  Assuming they’re able to complete at least two (2) floors per month (average is 2 or 3 per month with Reinforced concrete PT construction) this will be topped out by November or December this year.  

I wouldn’t expect Honeywell would be able to occupy this Tower until June/July of next year (2021) at the earliest.
