The Parking deck is 10 levels? With the hotel on top that puts us around 18-19 floors correct?

So, double checking the renderings, it'll have the presence (and floor count) of a 19-20 story building. It's pretty wide though so it won't look tall, but not as terrible as I expected.

From the renderings it doesn't look like the hotel is being built atop the parking deck, but it is elevated to be above the top level of the deck. I'm not sure whether this will increase the overall height of the finished product.

I think you are correct.  Parking seems to be beside the hotel persay.

For a casino supposedly breaking ground in spring, I'm astonished that no information has been released in months. Their media presence is non-existent. No commercials, no flyers, no updates, nothing... This sure doesn't seem to be something that's close to construction. Literally every other casino in Virginia has put out multiple updates. I've scoured the internet and the last update I can find from the developer of any consequence came out in November.

To be fair to the Pamunkey and HeadWaters, they are the only brand new casino operation. All the others operate casinos in other states and have a complete staff in place for public relations.  They’ll be off and running in due time.

By the way, I found this WM Jordan outreach event where they are hosting local contractors later this month.

Just the fact that Norfolk and VB has a long history of projects falling through, we are all just skeptical of this casino happening until construction begins. Hell, even when construction does begin, we are still skeptical until completion (see Granby Tower). We have been burned before.

Not sure how many of yall know but They added this project to the Downtown Norfolk Construction updates board. That board has basically everything that has so far been getting built. High hopes for this project......I hope it does not pull a Granby Tower on us :(

“And we are ready to certainly break ground and hopefully be able to open for business sometime in late 2023.”

The official groundbreaking is expected to take place this summer with construction following soon after....

I hope it does not get shortened again into a 7-11 with a few gambling machines! All jokes aside im excited to see if they changed anything for the better on it.

My guess is there won't be any changes. This is going to be a high quality casino, and will be more unique than the other Virginia venues. I really am impressed with the effort the Pamunkey are putting into revitalize that stretch of waterfront.

All hopes for this project are still up. They are expecting to break ground this year, right?

Construction timeline has been readjusted and the opening has been pushed back by a whole year to July 2024. The ground breaking is still set for this summer. With the gaming license expected to he approved this summer that also leaves 2 years with a license but no where to gamble. This leads them to thinking of setting up a "temporary casino" either in Harbor Park, tents, trailers, or other temporary structures. Although I should note that the Harbor Park option is the only one being considered at this time.

This all came from the same Instagram as my post in the military circle development thread.
