A massive warehouse is planned for North Memphis. Could it be Amazon?

 

Based simply on its size — five stories and possibly more than 4 million square feet on a 99-acre plot of land — elected officials have estimated that it could create at least 1,000 jobs. Its parking lot — 1,828 car and 200 truck spaces plus an area that could be used to add future parking — indicates the possibility of even more hiring.

Folks, this is like getting a 1,500 ft tower built in downtown. This is HUGE news!

 

**Now, just down the road in Nashville, project 'Sam' has just been approved which is - guess what - 5 stories, 3.5 million square feet, and parking for 1,800 cars

Bank of Bartlett leads $90M Arlington project, set to break ground in early 2020

A development with the potential to make a major impact on Arlington recently moved one step closer to reality.

The town's planning commission approved the infrastructure plan for the first phase of the 45-acre, $90 million Providence Place development on Nov. 18.

The first phase — the left half of the plans pictured above — is set to include a hotel with roughly 100 rooms, up to 97 apartments above 57,000 square feet of ground-floor retail, and another five or so retail buildings.

The nearly $400 million Lake District development off Interstate 40 at Canada Road is about to start coming out of the ground.

Three building permits valued at $13 million have been filed by Gilad Development Inc. for 9845, 9861, and 3504 N. Lake District Drive, according to public records.

“We’re doing sewers and storm drains now and getting ready to go vertical very soon, weather permitting,” said Gilad Director of Development Maggie Gallagher.

A $10 million permit for 9845 N. Lake District is for new construction of an 85,000-square-foot in-line retail shell and mixed-use complex of restaurants, according to the filing.

Looks like Millington is next on the mixed-use development front.

Developer Tom Marsh, doing business as TM Farms Holdings LLC, owns the acreage and is developing the mixed-use project.

The site is in north Millington. The property is behind, or east of, the existing Millington Farms Shopping Center anchored by Lowe’s, Petco and Ross Dress for Less. Veterans Parkway is the northern border, North Fork Creek is the eastern border and residents are to the south.

The Millington Industrial Development Board describes Millington Farms as a “transformational” development that will bring the kinds of apartments, shopping and other services that are not now available in northern Shelby County.

The public, through tax-increment financing, would pay an estimated $15 million for an extension of Glencoe Way, construction of an interior road, utilities, sidewalks and other improvements.

Progress continues and update on the Lake District in Lakeland

 

 

Construction for Lake District still underway amid public health crisis

"One of the Mid-South’s most ambitious construction projects, the Lake District is an upscale, mixed-use development on an 11-acre lake at I-40 and Canada Road.

They broke ground on February 5 and then COVID-19 happened.

But developer Yahuda Netanel says the coronavirus has not slowed down progress on the 161-acre project.

Construction on phase one, which includes retail and residential space, is right on schedule.

 

The Lake District will have an Osaka, Starbucks, Firehouse Subs and Frieda's.

More than 100 townhomes, the developer calls, unlike any other in the MId-South are being built."

 

The Lake District will also have a supermarket, gym and movie theater.

 

The developer says they’re still looking for an optometrist, dry cleaner, pizza place and local brewery to move into the development.

If the weather cooperates, phase one should be done by the holidays."
