I apologize for the bump of this thread but think it’s noteworthy. Truist tower is getting a new LED lighting system. Finally! Didn’t get a chance to snap a pic while I was on the road but looks like each slanted line on the silver part of the crown has LEDs. They were testing just a few minutes ago. Upgrade probably coincides with the logo reveal.

I was here like many of you when it was built from the ground up.  This will always be Hearst Tower to me.  It screams way more Art Deco and classic sounding to me than Truist Center.   Truist  Center sounds just kinda "blah."  I take that, it's just "blah."

Such a gorgeous building, and always will be. I do hope the signage is not as significant as we think. A knee LED system will look great on this tower.

Up close the new lights actually improve the building, it kinda looks like neon so makes it even more art deco! 

From further away, not so much. Either way, that purple is an improvement over the other purple they tried.

It’s off now but I glanced out the window about 15mins ago and did a double take.  That is impressive.  Very Tron / Bladerunneresque.  In the ambient white, I’m convinced they could turn off every street light downtown and it’d be just as bright outside.

Great pics everyone...this is a big improvement.   Those old lights weren't doing this crown any justice at night...love how the new LEDs accentuate the details.

Don't forget the signage changes are up for a rezoning (Petition 2020-064), which contradicts the newly approved sign ordinance. Don't like it? Email or call your council members and let them know.

Minor detail, but it looks like they added an LED outline to the very top of the crown.  It was just the vertical blade things last night.

Now if they could just add an LED outline like the BofA building in Dallas  to (formerly as of today) One Wells Fargo we could have our 6 tallest buildings lit up at night in tandem!

Loving the new lights. Going to hate the signage up top. Will definitely ruin the aesthetic of an iconic Charlotte tower.

The new lights look great and really help the tower stand out now. Such a great building in the day time, and now an awesome tower at night.
