It’s not the architecture or height that bothers me. It’s the parking lot that takes up half of the site with frontage along Academy Street that does.

I know there was discussion on this at the time, but I never followed the actual DRB meetings to know how the committee ruled.  However, I’m really glad the City got its way in pushing for the steps down to Academy Street. It’s really surprising how that small gesture actually affects your experience as a driver on a well-traveled corridor into downtown. Has anyone else noticed this? It’s still not finished, but it totally changes the street language from thoroughfare to pedestrian realm. More redevelopments with gestures like this will slow traffic on Academy.

Anybody know what is being planned for the parking lot next to the building? New survey stakes all over the place there. Surveyors were on site a few weeks ago also.
