I really like this building.  And just think when the other similar sized tower goes up across the Blue Line on South Boulevard, it will have quite an interesting mini-canyon feel.

I know they are going for the industrial look of the past with the brick choice but I wish they really would have done another brick. Something to pop and not just blend in. But hey I get it.

Since this is South End... Perhaps a pink brick would have been better? Or desert rose? 
 

Brick is brick, and this building tastefully complements the design center and other former warehouses in the area. The height alone ensures this won’t blend in for some time.

The brick blends with SouthEnd but I would have preferred another color choice. Darker or lighter. Just this bland brown brick doesn’t do it for me. That’s all.

Yes it is topped. I posted a screen shot pic from Instagram awhile back of them raising the final white beam with a tree. And yes Since it topped in December they used a Christmas tree for. They confirm it in the pic too. White beam with signatures and a tree always signifies a top out.

I drove down 77 today from uptown to Clanton, and this building had a pretty noticeable presence from 77 between West Blvd and Remount exits. You can also tell that the Portman Southend project will be visible from here as well. This all being with the leaves off the trees. If the West BLVD tower gets built this will be another mini skyline in the next few years.

Saw it from the midtown Target deck today also. Did a double take as had the thought what is that. Nice to see the growth. Poor N. Tryon though.

Childress Klein RAM Partners and Lowes bravo on this tower.  Today. 

Looking at the skyline of Southend reminds me of downtown Greensboro.   and I like downtown Greensboro too.

I look at the water tower on the Nebel mill building and then the new Lowes tower and I think about the NYC buildings with water tanks on the roof for sprinkler pressure. How does this building, and other buildings, maintain fire suppression systems without roof sourced pressure? The have fire suppression sprinklers, I assume. Someone educate me.

It’s definitely taller than the Hawk for sure! There might be a bit of forced perspective with the pictures though and the angles making the Hawk look teeny tiny
