Oh man this is my most favorite pic. It has it all! Sunset, top of the building, beige, cars, a corner of the parking deck and power lines galore!

It was a drive by quick snap to show what it looks like from the street. Unfortunately, there is no where in town where you can snap a pic without a power line, unless you are in a building.

Haven't hear that. This is just going to be a tech center. However, I have heard rumors the CEO wants to further expand into South End in the future. That might be a while off though.

Not accurate. You would need 4 more towers at a minimum. This tower will be mostly tech.

I don't see them leaving the Mooresville campus sure maybe a few higher ups like the CEO might have an office there but that Mooresville campus is over 730,000 sq ft  on 275 acres and has thousands of employees.   The current CEO does live in far south Charlotte so I am sure he will have some space there to pop in but this is for their tech staff to attract the talent.  

Honestly multi location corporate offices in the same market is a trend.  Of course our big banks do it but even Ally and Centene with their buildings and campus have tech offices separately both in Camp Northend.

I love love love this tower. I get we all want things to be the best they can be but it was about the best we can hope for the area. 

And also, it's definitely not going to be the HQ. It's supposed to remain in Mooresville for the foreseeable future. I would expect this tech campus to grow and maybe some C-suite people could have their offices here instead of the burbs like @KJHburg said.

I love the look of this building (it reminds  me of the Alamo) and I hope it is preserved.  I'm also happy that there is a business there (Miller Services) fully utilizing the space.  And given the fact that Lowes and other companies are moving hundreds or thousands of office employees into South End, it makes even more sense for Miller Services to stay put in this building as they'll be surrounded by lots of potential clients.  That said, I have noticed the wall of the building facing the Rail Trail has old doors and windows that have been bricked over.  How nice it would be to have those windows and doors restored and those spaces occupied by retail businesses,  bars or restaurants that could be directly fronting the Rail Trail.

100 Park Avenue, the current Miller Services business, formerly an A&P grocery (where I shopped occasionally) was built as an exhibition space for the Made in the Carolinas Expo in 1923 and I assume the openings were for rail access, loading and such for that purpose and time. (see just below the first building photos).

Thank you for this!  I just Googled that name (Made in the Carolinas Exhibition Building) and found this article from 1922.  It appears this building was very significant in Charlotte's history.

THAT would be an awesome use of this building, right in the heart of South End.  But I suppose it would be hard for the Atherton market to compete because this is a much larger space.
