Bought this Nikon DSLR 5600 just so I can take this photo for you guys.  Sure beats using Galaxy S10.

• Gone other than that little tip is my view of the BOAT.
• Lowe's topped out.
• Portman rising.
• Charlotte Metro Tower is rising as well.

This is about the tenant more than the building.  But Lowes had an amazing quarter and that is good for the region and all their local employees at the Mooresville campus and soon this tower in Southend. (not to mention their warehouse employees in the region and of course the store employees)

walk bys today was in the area and needed to go 5/3 Bank LOL.   The retail spaces are coming together you can see now.   Childress Klein A plus on this one.

There are LOTS of positives with this project. Too many to point out. But I want to point out one gripe, since I'm an armchair architect...

And I know cost is the reason... but I'm disappointed by the material used in between the windows on both the south and the west facing facades. Just looks cheap.

I want to like it, but IMO, it only looks good from the northeast corner (the only part of the structure with any architectural detail). From every other vantagepoint, it's a big version of the old BellSouth (now Wells Fargo) building on Brevard St.

Those views had me thinking literally that same exact thing the other day.

Comparing uptown charlotte to downtown atlanta and midtown atlanta to this area...maybe I can see that. But Charlotte does already have a clearly defined midtown.

walkaround the block today.  I thought about the 2nd tower potential for this site facing West Blvd and the Camden apartments across the street.  One time slated for a hotel but I wonder now if a residential tower could be built there.   Or maybe a combo of both.  Today.   The hotel market has been so devastated in Charlotte.

Since I doubt hotels will be built in large quantities soon, and there are a few already lined up in SouthEnd, I feel Apartments will go here.

Couch quarterback non-architect opinion, they should have continued the glass down through the parking deck on the front side as it was done on the Honeywell tower. Seems like a miss to transition to that mesh screen.
