Yea, Endeavor has two buildings planned and it looks like another residential building is planned in place of Hotel Broadway. Its all on the map. Its just going to be very congested traffic wise.

There is only one more open lot on that block but I can tell you that Market Street has plans for their lots on into the Gulch. The problem is that these little 2 & 3 lane streets were not designed to handle this much traffic.

I forgot 2 more lots, McDonald's , but they are unlikely to sell.

You wouldn't think that McDonald's could make enough money selling cheeseburgers to even pay the property tax on land as valuable as that!

The former manager who is now the manager at the Copper Branch where we meet for our forum meets said that is the busiest McDonalds in the region. 

The land is owned by McDonalds real estate corporation and from what I understand it is the largest or almost the largest real estate holding company in the country if not the world. They own property other than what their restaurants sit on and they get the money to pay the taxes just in the franchise fees from that particular owner and still have money to spare. The current total appraised value of that parcel is 10 million and change.

I am not sure how much in taxes they would have to pay, but I will say the franchise owner who owns about 40 stores in the area is still making money. Not so sure how much with Covid though.

Also if I was Metro, I would see this Ingress/Egress diagram and balk very quickly at any form of left hand turn on to Broadway. If you exit the building onto Broadway it should be right hand turn ONLY. Imagine what some of these drivers would do turning left on to broadway to immediately turn right on to the highway?!? This falls into the DTC, correct? how are they even allowed to have parking access along such a major roadway? I know the code allows for disguising parking on major streets, but with Broadway being as major and busy as it is, this is a bit insane (same could be said for the endeavor across the street, but I wasnt here when that was proposed lol)

I imagine the tenants wouldn't sign leases if they knew they didn't have the "option" to turn left on Broadway.. However without a traffic light on top of Whole Foods, tenants will end up making automatic right turns anyways.

I mean, i guess, that is where the tenant would have to make a concession for a prime location and the public health. Also the drive aisle coming through the building connects to the same intersection with two right hand turns that wouldn't create a dangerous intersection. I would prefer the city says no left turns outright, possibly even build a forced turn barrier so some numbskull in a rush doesn't try to pull an evel Knievel and make the turn anyways.

Here is a shot today from the Church Street bridge over I-40.   Tower crane on the east side has jumped and it looks like the west may do the same soon.  This building is already quite an addition to the growing Broadway skyline.

Yesterday these dudes were apparently turning left on Broadway, deciding not to go to Vanderbilt.  One can only imagine what they did on Lower Broad.  And what did they do when the rain came?  Hmmm.
