2nd Tower crane may be coming down any day now.

Looking SE from 14th Ave. North, just south of Grundy St:

I kinda wish they would do something with the black cover of the parking garage...

I've been thinking the same thing, it's as homely as a mud fence and really stands out now that the cladding is nearly done.

When the McDonald's finally goes away this will back up to tiers of parking for another tower.  Even a greedy business like MikeyD's will surcomb eventurall to the buckets of cash shoved under its nose by developers.   Just be glad the other threesides of the tower were covered in glass.  The side you dislike is the minimum nescessary for ventilation of the parking levels.  You can't cover it up with a pretty face that resticts ventilation.  I think what you see is the best they could come up with considering all things in consideration.  Perhaps a color of it other than dark grey would have been better though.

Meanwhile, it will very likely be refaced with a billboard of some nature. The passing eyeballs are too valuable not to be leveraged. One nearby building actually wanted to paint a cowboy with a guitar and a cactus/western landscape on the side of their building. I think I'd prefer a sign for the next CMA "artist" nominated for AOY.

I don't think they can cover anything over that area without bolluxing the air exchange calculations. Paint is the best we can probably hope for.

If I recall correctly, the black wall is already completely solid with CMU block. I would presume the garage is mechanically ventilated as the other 3 sides are enclosed by the glazing.
