I disagree very much.  That building in Oklahoma City is very impressive and gives the city a whole different vibe.  In my mind it expresses optimism and boldness about the future.  In fact that particular building is the most attractive structure in the whole city.  I don't believe that a mid sized city should feel some sort of obligation to "think small" just because they're not Chicago or NYC.  I'm one of those people in Nashville you mentioned who repeatedly post that they wish a particular project had been taller or that we wish that we had more tall buildings.  I dislike the pint sized buildings we get stuck with because certain city planners don't realize that we're becoming a major metro area with a bright future and we want our architecture to reflect that fact.

Someone sent me an address I'm looking up in Arkansas. Trying to get a street view of the location, I stumbled across this (um!) sculpture in Ft. Smith.  Son of Stix?  Added sometime in the past 5 years.

Supposedly those are already gone.   It was done to honor the Choctaw Nation in SE Oklahoma........lots of people in E. Oklahoma work in Ft. Smith.   I lived there a couple of years while going to a small technical school.

They actually had a hand in the design along with other artwork that was done around town back in 2016.   I think it looks pretty cool from the 2016 picture.

I know we lament that many architectural delights of the past 150+ years in Nashville have been taken from us.  However, this is the case pretty much everywhere you go.  It's just the nature of an ever-evolving city. These views of Manhattan over the years shows how much of its grand architecture that was standing a century or less ago has been demolished to make way for the new (and often some of those "newer" pieces have already been demoed yet again).

No offense to anyone who buys there, but I don't love it. Although interesting and neat-o, the offset blocks of floors aren't flipping my switch on this one. At 98 floors, those offsets seem like too much of a good thing (to my aesthetic). Also, having endured a number of hurricanes, I CAN'T imagine being in a higher floor during a Cat 4 or 5 hurricane. 150+ mph? No way.
