Recommended Posts

The city will make another attempt at securing a $16MM federal grant to build a pedestrian-bike over the Ashley River, parallel to the existing Ashley River bridges.

Total estimated cost of the bridge is $23MM.

This seems sorely needed. I just wonder if there's a better way than a completely new bridge? Even if the federal money doesn't come through, the City and County could easily afford this on their own.  They just need the political fortitude and will to make it happen.

This will definitely be helpful and if the grant doesn't come through, I hope the city and county will get it done themselves.
