Affordable Housing in Orlando

Recommended Posts

The Orange County Commission has taken the next step toward getting an emergency rent stabilization measure on the November ballot.

If this proceeds (SoE Bill Cowles says it must be finalized by Aug 23 to make the November general election), you’ll have all the evidence you need that, in OC, the times they are a-changin’.

And on facilities in Parramore’:

“We plan to invest in Orlando’s trusted service providers, including the Christian Service Center, Salvation Army and Coalition for the Homeless, to modernize their campuses, offer more wrap-around services and grow daytime operations, which means fewer unsheltered neighbors on our streets. Taken together, this represents the most significant investment in our city’s history to help care for those experiencing homelessness.” - Buddy Dyer

Kudos to the President and those who supported the American Rescue Plan Act as well as Mayor Buddy and the Orlando City Council for their efforts on this.

There is not one magic bullet to solve this problem. It’s going to take, ummmm, a thousand points of light, each designed for the area where they’ll be.
