Ever wonder what Orlando was like before The Mouse ruled the roost? At the Central Florida Fair, it’s been much the same for 108 years (except they used to be at Creative Village before the O-rena was built). It’s going on at the Pine Hills fairground by Lake Lawne through March 8.

The other shoe dropped. Buddy already canceled the Eola fireworks on July 4 and now Altamonte’s Red Hot and Boom show is off as well. If you need political fireworks, there’s always Twitter...

PRIDE is this weekend. The parade steps, sashays, meanders off at 4pm. I’ll be there and so should you - don’t miss it!

Orlando is also hosting the first National Trans Visibility March outside of DC,  with a rally beginning at 1:00 PM.

I thought about putting this in the Orlando SC thread, but it is actually not about our team.

Orlando ranks No. 13 among cities bidding for 2026 FIFA World Cup, per OBJ

That is according to a real estate consulting group who used the FIFA criteria and created a scoring system. I don't personally give it much credence seeing as they gave Orlando a "0" for stadium (out of 30 points) and only a "1.1" for fan fest venues. Not surprisingly, they dinged us for public transport and ranked us highly for hotels. DC, Baltimore, Boston and Houston all ranked below us.

Caveat- this study is a private firm unrelated to the selection committee.

Mexico will play Guatemala in Aprill at Camping World for the MexTour. These are Mexico's warm up games for bigger competition such as FIFA. Expected to generate 5-7,000 room rentals and $8M in economic impact.
