Based on the amount of apartments left available in the new VIDA complex in downtown Kannapolis, new construction on the 2-3 other complexes proposed in the immediate area, will probably commence very soon!

Overview of various projects throughout the city of Kannapolis.  The large Kannapolis Crossing was just recently rezoned per the developers request.   Also the recent sale of the old baseball stadium at Lane Street and I-85 was just completed this week so this map will be changing very soon.

small project but in a small town the new freestanding Starbucks in Harrisburg inbound on NC 49 for Charlotte commuters just like the McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts in town.  Next door a new Truliant Credit Union branch and Harrisburg has probably more bank branches per capita than any town in the region.

Up to 1000 homes could be in the works for both Kannapolis and the Town of Landis which would straddle the city limits of the two communities.

As a follow up to @KJHburg's positing in the RING CITIES forum on the recent donation of artwork to the City of Kannapolis but a local couple, I would be curious to see if additional public art could be incorporated into The Quad which was donated to the city by Castle and Cooke back in April; which for those that don't know is the real estate arm of billionaire David Murdock's business holdings.

Salisbury's new downtown park should be opening very soon.  The park incorporates several historic structures including the 1896 bell tower of the First Presbyterian Church and also the Wrenn Building which predates the Civil War and was formally known as the Salisbury Female Academy.  The building could be opened as a restaurant which it had been in the late 1980's through the early 2000's.
