Now since this property has been transferred from the state to Cabarrus County, it will be interesting to see what uses the location might be utilized for in the future.

Now on to the main course.

Downtown Concord has a beautiful gem of a garden that is the First Presbyterian graveyard, now a flower garden with fountains and allées. Blooming borders, water features and quiet benches and stone steps to contemplate life, beauty, the forelife and the afterlife.

This specimen shades a large area of what is a small memorial garden/cemetery.

Elsewhere in the garden there was a young couple with guitars playing softly on a bench.

There was a uniformed caretaker watering and caring for the garden during our visit on Sunday. No burials here for some time. At one far end there is a columbarium for current entombments. 

If you are in Concord this is one street off Union Street, the center of downtown. A quiet place and full of beauty year round.  Stay off the grass and be respectful.

Since this article mentions both Cabarrus and Rown economic announcements I will put it here.

$740M Beverage Campus To Be Built In Cabarrus County, NC (businessfacilities.com)

The new Rowan County warehouse logistics park will attract jobs for sure. 

Here is another big box warehouse proposed for Cabarrus County  755K sq ft with 40 foot ceilings.  10 years ago 25-28 foot ceilings were common then it went to 30-32 now new buildings are being built with 40 foot ceilings.  That is huge volume buildings stacked the ceiling literally.

The Stanbacks have saved thousands of acres in this State.  We owe them a lot of gratitude.  Eventually, preserved land will be a huge tourist draw.  Bigger and better than discount malls and casinos.

This is the Flywheel coworking space in downtown Concord the only such space in Cabarrus county.  This is some of the best looking coworking space I have seen in the area (and really around the country at the various ones I have been to in Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Austin etc)   Look at the inside of the old Cabarrus Bank and Trust that was restored and you can have a meeting in the old bank vault too.   Took at tour today at festival downtown Concord was having. 

Flywheel is based up in Winston Salem and has several locations around the state.  It is worth just taking a tour to see that beautiful space inside!   This might be a satellite office for KJ Industries after our Charlotte locations.
