Crews are putting down sod on the playing field of the new Kannapolis baseball stadium.  This project is definitely going to be an exciting venue for not only the city but for the region  The stadium and adjacent entertainment area is going to be very multi faceted.

The Town of Mt Pleasant is having somewhat of a renaissance in it's small downtown area with the addition of this coffee shop in the renovated old municipal building  The catalyst really was the opening of the restaurant 73 & Main in a former hosiery building about 2 years ago

Great news for the North Carolina Research Park in Kannapolis.  Hopefully this expansion translates into some manufacturing for the area.

At least this particular rezoning is in the "older"part of Concord and not int the far flung areas of the city limits.   

The eastern part of the county still maintains a more rustic appeal but sadly I believe development pressures will start to change that in the next 15-20 years.

Interesting the article mentions another Amazon facility for the county which already has 2 the sortation center by the airport and the 1 M sq ft warehouse off Kannapolis Pkwy and Hwy 73.
