The Antiques Building in the Paseo South development will have another new tenant: Blind Barber will lease out 3,300 sq. ft. This now fills the entire building. The unique barber shop will transform into a cocktail lounge at night.  The other tenants are GoodVets (which is operational) and in the near future Two Hands, a New York City-based all-day café founded and run by native Australians, and local Mexican restaurant Maiz de la Vida.

No way! I've been to the Blind Barber several times here in NYC. 

Great to see so many NYC area companies open in Nashville. Good things all around!

Companies like this are what is putting Nashville above our peer cities. These are not in Charlotte and Austin. There is a different vibe happening here now.

I think Austin gets a bit of the same, but they seem to get more carryover from LA / SF. Agreed on Charlotte, mainly because they don’t have a tourism scene (incoming Charlotte boosters to rebuke my statement).

Agreed. I think this any time places that are only in cities like NYC LA Chicago, etc. come to Nashville. It's especially sweet when they AREN'T in Austin. I know it's not a competition…but it's nice to score things over them sometimes haha. 

I also think it's impressive for the southeast as a whole to have Nashville and Atlanta so close together. Typically, the special things like this that Nashville doesn't get, Atlanta gets, and vice versa. Combined, the region has amassed a wide and impressive range of brands, companies, restaurants, etc. that have previously been exclusive to the northeast and the west coast during the past 5-10 years of immense growth, and it's positioning us to be a really strong, impressive melting pot of a megaregion where these brands exclusive to certain areas are coming together in an interesting and neat way!

Yep, 100% agreed. This is exactly what's happening. 

Nashville, being a huge entertainment mecca for music, draws in not only big money and big celebrities, but also brands that want to be in the city of Nashville, close to "where all the action/trends/creativity/power" is. 

Nashville draws attention from much bigger city brands, like New York, LA, San Francisco and Chicago. 

This is definitely what puts it ahead of many cities its size - and even bigger - in the US.

Prima Tower update.

The issuing of multiple grading permits are pending related to two towers planned for Paseo South Gulch, on which major work continues on the mixed-use development’s first high-rise.

Announced in April (read here), the high-rises — a 30-story residential building and a 22-floor office tower — will be constructed on a four-parcel 1.91-acre property with a main address 714 Eighth Ave. South.

A SomeraRoad spokesperson said the company has no immediate plans to demolish the former Flyte building, from which the company has a temporary office.
