That pedestrian bridge that was proposed to connect The Gulch to SoBro would have been a really nice addition in this shot.  Hope it gets resurrected at some point.

I think it could be a great deal cheaper as it now has to span only half of the tracks it did before as CSX removed several.  Hopefully the landcould be acquired for a reasonable cost.  The original proposal had a very complex and expensive termination on the Gulch side.  a less costly solution could  be accomplished now.

Put that bug in the ears of the mayor to see if the idea could gain traction again.  Something is needed in that space to bridge the two sides and maybe put a ferris wheel or observation tower on one side.

Right now, Carter Vintage Guitars' current location at 625 Eighth Ave. S. is the only property facing Eighth Avenue South between Gleaves Street and Old Division Street that SomeraRoad does not already own or reportedly have under contract. SomeraRoad declined to comment on whether it plans to purchase the property.

With Carter Vintage Guitars' 13,000-square-foot deal, the Downtown Antique Mall building (now branded simply as the “Antiques building”) is fully leased.

I think there was a big clue touched on at the kickoff at Loopers event. The Somera official said there were a "couple of more acquisitions" to be made and that they were moving forward on the other three buildings of Paseo South this year.

My guess is that they will purchase the rest of the block between Mansion and Old Division facing 8th.

That reminds me Ron of your comment a few months back to my question about what was possibly going across 8th Avenue... and yes, a short time after that I heard the same rumors. I can't confirm because there's still been no announcement, but you mentioned those properties in your reply.  Sounds like that area is about to see some NY-level construction... and THIS YEAR!!
