Since MarketStreet bought the BP Golden Sound building, I wonder if BP needs to move from that location to Paseo South Gulch because MS has told them they will have to move at some point in the next few years.

The renovated Voohrees Building's roof  will be home to Patterson House and Catbird Seat restaurants which will be relocating from 1711 Division St. in the Music Row area.  Last week, Barista Parlor announced the would be moving into the same structure's first floor from their existing spot on Magazine Ave. a few blocks to the west.

My guess is the Patterson House building in midtown is not long for this world. The Jane Chera living Trust has assembled a grouping of parcels including The Patterson House which I think will be developed very soon.

Glad they’ve found a place to move their business, this little district is going to be a cool little node of activity in a pretty barren part of downtown once it’s built out.

I'm placing this news here, since it is the developer of Paseo South Gulch who bought this .17 acre surface lot slice at 631 8th Ave. South, directly across the street. The price is $3.5 million, which works out to $20.58 million per acre/$472 per sq. ft.  They purchased it from MarketStreet Enterprises, who had landed it in 2008 for $220,000.   No word on SomerRoad's plans, but one would think they are wanting to make Carter Vintage Guitars, directly to the north, an offer they can't refuse.

Two additional towers are being planned for Paseo South Gulch's 4th and 5th phases: a 30 story, 350' residential (396 units), and 22 story, 380', 520,000 sq. ft. office building, as well as 11,180 sq. ft. of retail/restaurant space, and 1,500 capacity, 8 level underground  garage that will be built on the recently-acquired 1.91 acre lot at 714 8th Ave. South. ESa is the architect.  SomeraRoad will request height modification approval from Downtown Codes. New renderings and diagrams below.

“We have submitted an exciting proposal to Metro Planning that will enhance our vision for Paseo South Gulch, ensuring it becomes a pivotal 'live-work play-stay' destination in Nashville,” Taylor Ott, SomeraRoad vice president of development, emailed the Post. “The plans include thoughtfully designed public spaces, an extension of the original Paseo concept and seamless interconnectivity with our award-winning revitalization of the Antiques Mall and Voorhees building, the previously submitted hotel/condo project and our first multifamily tower, Prima.”

This is one of the nicest, aesthetically pleasing tower developments I've seen for Nashville. I really am digging the look of it. 

And to add the new towers in this expanded plan--wow, just a nice mini Nashville Yards 2.0  LOL....this part of the Gulch is indeed a hotspot for development.

Just a perfect development really, with equal attention being paid to both the ground level and the designs of the towers themselves. Not to mention, revitalizing historic structures when possible and integrating them seamlessly. I love it.

I think I speak for everyone when I say that this development has far exceeded expectations and has grown tremendously from what it was at first. I love that the designs for the towers are actually unique, high quality, and on par with bigger cities that have the luxury of getting towers like this all of the time. Love the curve window cutouts on the new rest tower and the balconies on the new office tower. The historic buildings have also been integrated very well and this project is finally filling the void between the gulch and sobro on 8th in a really stunning way. Can't express my love for this project enough! If only the railroad tracks had passenger rail…maybe one day!

Couldn't agree more @henburgthe ground level is another huge win with this project and is gonna be so much needed activation! Really well done.

Good question.  However I am more interested in the plot across 7th Ave. S. and the two tiny trianges  adjacent.  With this Paseo proposal, I expect something very big about to happen there too.  Well the great thing is that all these massive projects may just fence in Haven and  by surrounding it, beat it into the obscurity it so richly deserves.  I think we should all get together and plant  dozens of trees on the Interstate right-of-way to hide as much of that face as possible one night.
