I was thinking the same thing, all these new digs, and it seems like bedrock is what like 1-2 feet down.

Is that pretty true thought the city? Like if I dug down am I hit bedrock in my backyard?

For a large part of this area that seems to be the case.  In my last house in Inglewood I was trying to find a good place for a shed in my very steep backyard and found huge chunks of what appeared to be bedrock at the bottom of it.  It appears as though the developers just piled up a large amount of soil on top of it and leveled off the areas where the houses were going to be built.  You see exposed bedrock everywhere along the freeway where there's a few feet of soil for trees and the kind of foliage that grows naturally here and it's solid rock below that.

Correct.  And in some places the earth didn't even bother with the dirt layer and it's just solid limestone bedrock right at the surface.  Parts of Wilson/Rutherford/Williamson counties are like that.  Maybe other places.

Also, that's why the Eastern Red Cedar does so well here:  it can literally grow between the cracks in the limestone with very little soil.  You should check out Cedars of Lebanon State Park some time if you're interested.  The trails through the cedar glades (were bedrock is at surface level) are pretty amazing.

The Cedar Belt extends from Maury County to Bedford and Rutherford to Wilson Counties. The Glades are so prolific  it almost seems as if you are out west in a semi arid region.

Not only does Tennessee Red Cedar flourish in the area but it is also why the automobile plants are built here- the bedrock is so solid and near the surface it can handle the massive stamping machinery needed in car manufacturing.

Just another reason the Mid State is booming and places like West Tennessee, sadly, aren't.

They’ve recently been pulling the plumbing/mechanical finish out permits for each floor, so they’re definitely moving forward with this on that end. As @markhollinstated, they’ve been adjusting the fencing and have started staging materials. I imagine we should see movement on this soon.

It could also be like @smeagolsfreewhere they are just wating to get the superstructure going. Tony appears to be doing both these towers at the same time so there is probably a lot of logistical juggling getting the excavation done on both sites before both begin the superstructure.

The site does appear dormant.  A few trucks parked inside the barrier but no workers there today at noon.

And Tony's Puddle hasn't grown much.

But lots of activity at 801, so maybe they are sharing equipment.

We must be optimistic.
